After our first night camping and an afternoon spent hiking, it was nice to sit down at the end of the day to a civilized meal in a upscale restaurant.
The outdoor dining patio was delightful! We enjoyed the desert evening breeze and the beautiful large fountain that is a focal point of the patio.
We took advantage of the Yelp coupon that was offered. The prices are consistent with a fine dining experience and the Yelp coupon buffered the sticker shock.
I ordered the Buffalo Meatloaf entree which was pan seared, lightly seasoned and topped with black onion gravy, skin-on mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables which were fresh and steamed cooked just perfect! My partner ordered the burger, high quality sirloin cooked perfectly medium rare and yummy steak fries. The portions are ample so you can easily split a meal.
The 3 star rating reflects our disappointment with the sluggish and apathetic service.
My advice to to management is to give the servers additional training to be more attentive and customer service oriented. You just can't expect the food and menu to please customers. Service is very important. When you are charging an average of $20 for an entree and give the perception to customers that you are a fine dining establishment, you must deliver the service that people expect! Once we were seated, we waited a very long time for our server to come over and take our drink orders. Then we waited another 20 minutes for our drinks! Once she took our food order, she disappeared completely for another lengthy period of time.In the meantime, my wine glass was empty and I was looking around to find her to ask for another. Mind you, it was not a busy night! A server should be attentive. As soon as your drink is gone, they should be there to ask if you want another, and cognizant of filling up your water glasses as they become depleted! When the food finally came, she dumped the plates on our table and disappeared for a half hour, never once checking up on us to see if we needed anything else! We had to flag her down for the check at the end of the night! That is totally unacceptable!
Perhaps they don't count on repeat business since it is a transient, touristy town....
You just can't give out coupons to generate business, you must have good service to get customers to keep on coming back and recommend your business.
