“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

On the strength of tripadvisor, we dined at the Desert Bistro last night. We love fresh food, ingenious preparation and great flavors. We got them all at the Bistro. We sat outside, where we could watch the light changes on the mountainsides. Our server, B, was one of the best servers we have ever had- personable, genuine, informed, and attentive but not intrusive. One of the owners sat us, and checked in a couple times during the meal. If you are in Moab and enjoy big-city quality food, don't miss Desert Bistro.

“Top quality bistro in the heart of the canyons”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

This was a superb restaurant and, despite the impressive variety of dining options in Moab, this was easily the best we found.

We chose to eat on our own at one of three front tables. The inside looked cozy, and we were told there was a back patio with heaters, but we had the front to ourselves. I got a bit chilly after sunset, but that's what layering's for in the desert.

The fresh, warm bread they opened with was accompanied by honey butter, olive tapenade, and an oil and spices dipping sauce. Nice to have such delicious variety.

We split a flavorful beet appetizer, fresh and, with the use of a variety of beets, colorfully prepared.

But it was the pork tenderloin that was worth the whole visit. It was tender - the chef won't prepare it past medium rare - and, with the apricot sauce and other spices, the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth pork I've ever eaten. I almost never order pork, as it's bound to be over-cooked and flavorless, but the menu had enough creative options, I gave it a try. Perfect!

Our waitress was also a delight, a Ukrainian transplant with a love and understanding of great food and great service.

Desert Bistro a comparatively expensive choice, but if you want something special in Moab after a long day of hiking/cycling/etc., this is the place.

“Excellence in the dessert”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Desert Bistro was highly recommended to us and we were not disappointed ! The food was outstanding! I enjoyed mini crab muffins . Beautifully presented and delicious. My main course was Barramundi , a fish from Australia. It was served with grilled peaches. The meal was finished with a lime tart and espresso martini.
There were four people in our party. All were equally impressed. I would fly back from NH just to dine here.
Kudos to our waiter, Chris, who added to our wonderful experience!

“Another hidden dining gem.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

In our opinion this is THE place to dine, service was great, the atmosphere excellent, native Indian theme and blends in well with its location. On our first night when we arrived we went to the restaurant and found that it was fully booked until 9 pm, so we made a reservation for the following night. The restaurant was located right behind our hotel, so we didn't have far to go. When we arrived the following night we were shown to a very nice table, just for the two of us with a small window to look at the passing scenery. Anyway B was our waitress who gave us excellent service, she was very knowledgable about the specials for the night, and very friendly. She brought out fresh baked bread, which was very hot, along with three different dips. There were also a couple of complimentary Chef specials, which again were very delicious. We started with a couple of entree's the crab cake muffins for my wife and I had the vegetable spring rolls, very nice indeed. Next came our main dishes, my wife ordered the marinated grilled pork tenderloin with the apple and chipotle sauce, which was so good she actually cleaned her plate. I had one of the nights specials, it was the Hawaiin version of Sea Bass with a wasabi and pea crust served on a bed of quinoa, I am so pleased with the meal, I would readily order it again. We did find some room for desert, chocolate mousse served in chocolate cups with a side of whipped cream.

Overall with the location it's just right, a little of the main tract, but ideally situated. Ample parking is available, we have this knack of finding these dining gems and this ranks right up there with one of our best finds.
