“Greatest food in Moab!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

This is the greatest restaurant in Moab!! They have the best chili cheese burgers I have ever tasted. I just finished eating and I am in heaven. The line outside the restaurant is constantly 30 people deep and the tables and parking lot is lively with people. It would be a big mistake to go to Moab and not to and eat at Milts.

“Friendly, locally sourced, HUGE amount of fries”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

Originally went inside - only 2 small tables and about a 6 seat counter. I was quickly greeted and seeing that I wasn't familiar with their place, given a quick rundown on what they are known for and what is popular. If it's a decent day, everyone eats on the patio (which is what we ended up doing). The Moab residents who are into locally sourced and fresh can't say enough good things about Milt's. As people have mentioned, it's a small place and they had 1 person handling the take out window, a cook and another handling/helping with everything.

Fries - you can definitely tell they are fresh. Totally different texture/flavor compared to fast food places like McD's/BK. But my favorite fries are from Five Guys. These are good though - they don't salt them (maybe a health thing but I like mine salted). What they do give you is a HUGE amount of fries. We could have split a small order between 4 of us.

Burger/BLT - ordered one of their specialty burgers and a BLT. Don't know why places cook bacon so it is crispy and shatters into pieces and bit. Milt's is no different (surprisingly, the Best Western Abby Inn in St. George has almost perfectly cooked bacon for their breakfast buffet). Tomato was fine, not as good as home grown but much better than the tasteless variety at the chains. While the fries at Five Guys is great, if you watch them cook the meat, they have so little meat in their patties that some fall apart while they cook them - they distract you with all their toppings. At Milt's you know you got a burger because you can see and taste the meat patty.

I didn't watch them prepare my order but the wait makes you think that they grind your meat when you order versus having patties already formed. They said 15 minutes when I placed my order and that's about how long it took. It's better than going into a chain and having them hand you a burger that might have been made 10 minutes ago but you get it in your hands in seconds.

There was a steady stream of customers coming and several were obviously repeats. In Moab, Milt's business model seems as important as customer service and food to the loyal locals. I found the customer service to be excellent. Ketchup dispenser on the patio was running out and they saw I was working to get some and they immediately came out with another squeeze bottle. BTW, for those of you that haven't been there, they have a cooler on the counter in the patio area where the condiments are stored (and it had a full bottle of ketchup - which I found just as he came out with the fresh one).

“Pretty Good Burger....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

This place is off the main drag in a residential type area and it's not retro....it's just old, as in Moab's oldest restaurant. Nothing has changed since the 1950's and it looks like it. Limited seating and most of it is outdoors, so if it's cold, it's just a take-out place. We were starving and the wait was rather long once our order was placed. They had lots of action going on in the kitchen, but it seemed to take way too long to produce the orders. Burgers were fine, pretty darn good. Fries, not so much....a bit soggy if you ask me, and you know they were made fresh, not just kept warm. If you've been out hiking or whatever all day and you're starving, have a snack before you get there as it'll be a while before you eat. Fun to experience, but Five Guys does it better.

“45 minutes, bad customer service and no hamburger...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The cook yelled at me to leave and said he didn't need my money when asked where my order was after waitng for 45 minutes. Its really sad when other customers apologize for the restaurants bad service. I have been going to Moab for the last 12 years and wanted to try Milt's. That was a mistake...
