Excellent all the way around...even the smell of horse manure in the morning. Great room, right on the Colorado River, everything in tip-top shape.

Biggest surprise...the food; the restaurant is excellent.

Highly recommend.

Pros: 1. Spectacular location outside Moab on Colorado River
2. Incredible views of Red Cliffs
3. Comfortable and clean rooms with nice photos on walls.
4. Spacious cabins for larger families or groups
5. Scenic heated pool and hot tub.
Cons: 1. Traffic at lodge too fast, danger to children and stirring up dust.
2. Cows next to river contradict environmental ethic of lodge and destroy ambience next to river.
3. Noise at night from cars and guests at cabins on weekend.
4. Wi Fi at cabins spotty.

Red Cliffs Lodge was an incredible find. I was traveling with my 23 year old daughter and 18 year old niece and neded a room for 1 night. I called and spoke with Gloria. She was warm and friendly and made the reservation process a breeze. After a full day of hiking we arrived at the lodge and were pleasently surprised, especially the girls. They told me that I had done a great job finding a place to stay. The views were breathtaking.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. They gave us homemade cookies!!! We checked into a spacious, immaculate room with more amentities than anticipated. We had a delicious meal with fabulous service.
In the morning we had a tasty buffett breakfast and enjoyed the movie museum before checking out. We met Gloria whom I bet is gracious and outgoing even on a bad day. We were given suggestions for our days activities based on our time constraints (great tips by the way. The comment was made that "there is never a bad day at Red Cliffs Lodge." The only disappointmet was that we had to leave. They offer so may activities that we were unable to experience that I guess we will just have to go back.

We first stayed at the Red Cliff's Lodge in the first month it opened a few years ago; quite by chance. Driving into Moab we just came across this stunning place and decided to stay there instead of a place in town. Since that first experience we've been back at least 3 times in addition to a 4 day stay over the last week. Not only is the lodge in a truly magnificent and quiet setting but it has been incredibly consistent in ambience, cleanliness, service and overall quality since it first opened.

The rooms are spacious, very quiet and well maintained; all on either a creek or the Colorado River. The lodge has a nice restaurant with large windows facing out over the river. A decent breakfast buffet is available for a reasonable cost and seating is open for taking in the stunning view. On our most recent visit we had dinner on the outdoor deck of the restaurant on two of the four days. These were our most enjoyable dinners of the trip...far superior to the restaurants in town. The service was great (only exceeded by the view) and the food exceptional. I had the salmon both nights; my husband a spicy chicken dish on each night as well. We loved both dishes.

We travel extensively both domestically and internationally...the Red Cliffs Lodge continues to be one of our favorite places in the world. I'm just thankful it isn't far from our home in Colorado.

We loved staying at the Red Cliffs Lodge with our two kids, ages 8 and 13. We have been to Moab before but have stayed in town. Hence we never had the chance to drive the stretch of Rte 128, from the Main Street into Moab to the Lodge. Wow, that drive rivals any scenic drive in the world. You do use up a fair amount of gas, but we loved seeing those beautiful cliffs at all different times of the day. The Lodge itself is great. Not overly fancy but comfortable and clean. We had absolutely no problems with cleanliness or insects mentioned in other reviews -- mid-April, hot and sunny weather. The rooms are furnished in simple Southwestern style. We chose a queen suite overlooking a small creek. We also checked out the 2-room cabins. They were very nice, but note that they are farther from the main lodge, where the front desk and restaurant are located, so getting back and forth if you need to go there for any reason becomes time-consuming. Also, we noticed that in the river-front cabins (and, presumably the river king suites) you really hear the roar of the river unless the windows are shut. It actually sounds like an interstate, but it's just the river! The views from every angle of the room are just wonderful -- those amazing red cliffs against the blue, blue sky. And the split rail fence, the horse pasture. One morning the horses were just outside our door, on the other side of the creek. There is a small play area with swings and a tetherball set. Best for smaller kids, but our sons did play a bit of tetherball. There are two tennis courts, and the Lodge lends you racquets and balls if you need them. The pool and hottub are very nice, again with the amazing views. There is also a nice workout room and a laundry room. The staff was quite helpful and we sought their advice a lot. They helped us to book some guided trips -- horse trail riding, a Hummer Tour. The horse rides leave right from the lodge stables. There is a bit of a stables smell in some areas of the grounds, but that is to be expected, as it is after all a ranch. The kitchenette in the room is helpful. We were there five nights but had only two meals at the restaurant. The restaurant was very pleasant, again with those amazing views. The food was good, not great. But we were satisfied. We also ate at various places in Moab and we had groceries in our room for some of the meals as well. I would recommend stopping in town for groceries before arriving at the Lodge. I supposed some people might prefer the Sorrel River Ranch, which is supposed to be more upscale, but it's much more expensive, and this place really can't be beat for value and location. One of the people we met told us the views and setting at Red Cliffs is better than Sorrel River -- don't know if that's true. We would definitely go back and are sending friends there planning a Moab trip.
