We chose the Red Cliff Lodge for one night of our recent road trip because of its proximity to Arches and Canyonlands; and because it was so well reviewed on this site. We were not disappointed. We arrived in the dark after a long day on the road and were greeted by the festive lights on the fence leading in from the road and on the lodge itself.

Staff were pleasant and welcoming and very helpful in getting us settled. The accommodations are spacious and complete and definitely had a western theme to them. The king suite backed on to the river and had everything you would need for an extended stay (even though we didn't). it is a touch dated but not out of place.

When they say nestled in the heart of the river, canyon and red cliffs they aren't kidding. It is hard to imagine a setting in the southwest that would provide better vistas while lounging in and around your room. Spectacular does come to mind.

The food in the buffet breakfast was well prepared and there were a number of choices. While buffets are not normally our choice because there is no way to tell when the food was prepared, this seemed well done and quite fresh.

Lots of TV channels to choose from if you can stay awake to watch any. The wifi was quick to connect and stable. No complaints.

We coud definitely see ourselves staying a few days here if the opportunity presents itself.

We just stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge for a long weekend for 4 nights (9/4- 9/7) and had a wonderful time! We arrived Wednesday afternoon, and had a wonderful meal and some wine tasting. We were constantly impressed with the attention to detail, and approach to hospitality that is everywhere at the Lodge. On Thusday, we went horse back riding twice! Nicole and Wendall showed us such a great time, so we just had to go back when my brother arrived. For the second night in a row, our dinner waiter (Chad) was spot on with menu recommendations and great service. Specifically, the game meats were wonderful! Our private two bedroom cabin was large, clean, and reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is also a winery on site serving tasting samples with a smile. The Cab is especially nice. We spent the next two days hooked up with friends and family, hiked to delicate arch, and rode ATV's in the mountains. I highly recommend for an adventureous getaway! We will go back.

Room Tip: Get a private cabin along the river for great views.

Booked a two bedroom cabin facing the Colorado River for three nights. Watched rafters go down from our patio. The cabin is well furnished and decorated. I wondered about the cost but it is really special. Towering cliffs, starry nights, sunsets, horses, etc. The drive along Hwy 128 is like being in a national park. Everything is first class. They have a friendly staff and a museum of artifacts and photographs downstairs at the main lodge. The restaurant has a spectacular view of the river and cliffs. We found the food to be quite pleasing. It is 14 miles from Moab but that did not pose a hardship.

Room Tip: A view of the Colorado River adds so much.

I just stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge for Labor Day weekend for 4 nights (8/29- 9/2) and had a wonderful time! We arrived in the dark on Thursday night, and were awestruck when we woke up on Friday morning to see the river and red cliffs off our back portch, and horses playing outside our front door! Our private cabin was large, clean, and reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We attended the music festival on the lawn behind the main lodge on Sat. and Sun. nights, which was heavenly after hiking/rafting all day. There is also a winery on site serving their wines on the lawn. A relaxing way to end the day.

I recommend visiting the on-site museum as there are several movies filmed on the hotel site, and the original Marlboro man is buried there!

The only downside for some people may be the drive to/from Moab as it is a good 30 min on the windy/scenic road - though the scenery is beautiful and well worth it!

I would highly recommend!

Room Tip: All rooms are large, however the cabins have 2 completely separate bedrooms plus a pull out couch, w...

My husband and I just spent 5 nights in a king, river front unit and we loved every minute! We had the view, the sounds and smells of nature at its best, and the comfort of a well appointed room. We took a horseback ride with Jill that was the best either of us had ever had; we hiked along the river and saw amazing sunsets and sunrises; we ate on our own patio with delicious food we bought in the restaurant. We can highly recommend this as an excellent place to stay. It is about 15 miles from Moab, but the 15 mile drive is one of the most scenic around and no matter how many times we drove it we enjoyed ourselves.

Room Tip: The King river front rooms are awesome!!

The location is amazing, as it is the road from the town to get there.
The check-in process was quick, with the lady reciting the usual stuff in a very impersonal way. The room was spacious, with a good size kitchenette area, a nice balcony and a great view of the mountains and the corral. I liked how the bathroom area is separated from the room. The A/C was a window unit, a bit noisy.
Nice pool area, spoiled by unruly and confrontational guests, taking advantage of the lack of control by the hotel.
The restaurant had a spectacular view of the Colorado River. The food is good and the service acceptable. The first night I called to make a reservation for dinner and, although my call was directed to the restaurant from the front desk, I was turned down as "....it sounded as I was not staying at the hotel...". So, when making reservations, specify that you are a guest.
Interesting museum in the basement of the main building.
Be aware that this hotel is far away from Moab: considering the road works that apparently are a constant feature of this road, it will take you at least 25 minutes to get to Moab.

Room Tip: Some of the creekside rooms have the view obstructed by the trees
