I just stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge for Labor Day weekend for 4 nights (8/29- 9/2) and had a wonderful time! We arrived in the dark on Thursday night, and were awestruck when we woke up on Friday morning to see the river and red cliffs off our back portch, and horses playing outside our front door! Our private cabin was large, clean, and reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We attended the music festival on the lawn behind the main lodge on Sat. and Sun. nights, which was heavenly after hiking/rafting all day. There is also a winery on site serving their wines on the lawn. A relaxing way to end the day.

I recommend visiting the on-site museum as there are several movies filmed on the hotel site, and the original Marlboro man is buried there!

The only downside for some people may be the drive to/from Moab as it is a good 30 min on the windy/scenic road - though the scenery is beautiful and well worth it!

I would highly recommend!

Room Tip: All rooms are large, however the cabins have 2 completely separate bedrooms plus a pull out couch, w...

My husband and I just spent 5 nights in a king, river front unit and we loved every minute! We had the view, the sounds and smells of nature at its best, and the comfort of a well appointed room. We took a horseback ride with Jill that was the best either of us had ever had; we hiked along the river and saw amazing sunsets and sunrises; we ate on our own patio with delicious food we bought in the restaurant. We can highly recommend this as an excellent place to stay. It is about 15 miles from Moab, but the 15 mile drive is one of the most scenic around and no matter how many times we drove it we enjoyed ourselves.

Room Tip: The King river front rooms are awesome!!

The location is amazing, as it is the road from the town to get there.
The check-in process was quick, with the lady reciting the usual stuff in a very impersonal way. The room was spacious, with a good size kitchenette area, a nice balcony and a great view of the mountains and the corral. I liked how the bathroom area is separated from the room. The A/C was a window unit, a bit noisy.
Nice pool area, spoiled by unruly and confrontational guests, taking advantage of the lack of control by the hotel.
The restaurant had a spectacular view of the Colorado River. The food is good and the service acceptable. The first night I called to make a reservation for dinner and, although my call was directed to the restaurant from the front desk, I was turned down as "....it sounded as I was not staying at the hotel...". So, when making reservations, specify that you are a guest.
Interesting museum in the basement of the main building.
Be aware that this hotel is far away from Moab: considering the road works that apparently are a constant feature of this road, it will take you at least 25 minutes to get to Moab.

Room Tip: Some of the creekside rooms have the view obstructed by the trees

Red Cliffs Lodge has everything. The views, the quietness, great rooms with lots of space and amenities, a pool, laundry, etc. etc. We stayed here three nights and could have stayed for more if we had the time. Easy spectacular views to the parks. Nice restaurant with well prepared entrees at dinner. You won't find anything better in Moab.

Room Tip: Book in advance - rooms fill quickly.

My wife and I needed a get-away, and we hadn't been to the Moab area in years. We wanted a place close to the 4WD trails of Moab, but we didn't want "just a motel" in the middle of town. The location, right on the Colorado River, is visually stunning! Our private patio opened onto a small greenbelt, followed by a split-rail fence, and then the Colorado River. Beyond the river were the namesake towering red cliffs.

The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and mostly clean (the wooden mirror frame had "dust-bunnies"). The staff we met were very pleasant and welcoming. The lodge seemed to offer a lot of optional coordinated leisure activities (horseback riding, river-rafting, biking, etc...) I can't comment on the quality of the activities, as we followed our own itinerary.

We had the buffet breakfast (additional charge) 2 mornings. The food was good, but not amazing. While it was a buffet with several choices (breads, cereals, eggs, meat, juices, etc...), the menu was exactly the same each morning. I'd prefer to see a more varied menu each day.

Although we stayed 3 nights, we actually only had 2 days in the area (arrived late the first night, left early the 3rd morning). As much as we enjoyed our outings in Arches National Park (day 1) and the "Fins 'n' Things" trail (day 2), we were very sad that we couldn't have spent more time just enjoying the lodge. We definitely intend to return, and hopefully we'll be able to spend more time just enjoying the lodge.
