Owner description: From the prominence of Dead Horse Point, 2,000 feet above a gooseneck in the Colorado River, an ever changing landscape unfurls. Immense vertical cliffs meet with canyons carved by ice, water and wind creating a visual masterpiece. Plants and animals surviving on the edge of existence face many challenges of extreme conditions within this high desert environment. Stories of ancient hunters, resting along the cliff tops while knapping chert in preparation for the next hunt, and cowboys of the late 1800's, chasing wild mustangs onto Dead Horse Point, using the narrow neck to block off the natural corral . “Gorgeous scenery”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

This was a beautiful place to visit. The mountains and canyons were really something to see.
There is a $10.00 fee but it's well worth it especially if you're from the eastern part of the country. It's unlike anything we have.

If you are in the area you should definitely visit this park as well as Arches and Canyonlands. The threesome makes for some beautiful viewing, hiking, whatever

“One magnificent viewpoint”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Remember it is a state park and you will be hit for $10 after travelling in for 4 miles. Should have a sign at the turn off. The view is terrific and there is a good interpretive center. Skip the park if you are pressed for time as Canyonlands and the Arches are better.

“Worth The Detour”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Almost missed this one. Lucky for us, someone had mentioned not missing the Dead Horse Point SP, so we made the detour. Beautiful setting. Nicely arranged parking/walking path. Definitely worth a look.
