Large clean room, fluffy feather pillows on very comfortable bed, walking distance to all the best restaurants in Moab, very quiet even on a busy street, friendly staff, free and no hassle Wi-Fi, and only 5 min drive from Arches National Park, a great place to crash after a long day of hiking.

We have been visiting Moab regularly since 1987, there is so much to see and do around here. Of all the motels we have stayed in, Bowen is the most comfortable with the best planned rooms. The rooms are quite large, have a table and chairs, 40 inch tv, plenty of luggage space and a private sink outside the bathroom with room to make a cup of tea. We travel with a kettle as you cannot get boiling water in the USA. The motel makes no pretence to be a luxury hotel but it is eminently practical, well located, very comfortable, exceptionally clean, good aircon, computers in the reception area, pool with chairs and loungers, caters for mountain bikers (not me), plenty of parking and helpful staff, especially Ginger. We have stayed here eight or nine times and have always been sorry to leave. Highly recommended as equivalent properties are twice the price.

The Bowen Motel, in downtown Moab, is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. I give the owners credit for trying to update this set of old buildings with new bathroom fixtures, nice towels and a nice bed, but the result and the price just don't justify staying here. The motel is located right next to I-191 with constant truck noise all night long. You can see nearly every sheet rock line under the paint and we had a large buckle in the ceiling. Also an attic access panel over our bed didn't improve matters. We could hear every word that was spoken in both rooms adjoining ours and were entertained by the other guy's TV selection. The weird layout of the room puts the headboard of the bed right next to the bathroom of the adjoining room and--you guessed it, we got to share all of their bathroom noises also. Ughhhh. No breakfast and miniscule parking spaces and a tiny pool right near the hiway round out this forgettable experience. There are other quieter motels just down the road for $20/ night less with far more amenities. Try one of those, we did.

My apologies for the road noise. I would love to know where you stayed down the road for $20 less, with thicker walls, larger pool, and with breakfast so that I can research being more competitive for the price . The sheet rock lines and other defects are in process of repaired. Even still we will work on those things for other future guests and thank you for stating all of this so we can improve.

My friends were all staying at an RV/Campsite near Arches which didn't allow dogs, so I stayed at the Bowen. The price was very reasonable for my clean room with a microwave, coffee machine, and fridge. I liked being close to town and to the park by the creek where I could walk the dog. Management was very helpful and friendly and put me in a room towards the back of the hotel, except for the woman with a stud in her nose. Barely acknowledged me upon checkout - other than that, a very good choice for accommodation in crowded Moab.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far away from the road as possible then crank up the AC to drown out any road nois...

It is good to hear how you appreciated the courtesy of having pets in the rooms. It has been often discussed if that is going to be kept around for the future. As long as there are people like you that appreciate it and are responsible dog owners it will stay. I will speak to the women at the desk, no stud in her nose though. Sorry for the road noise.

Excellent location - walking distance to most places on Main St, right next to a bakeshop and Canyon Voyages, a very good outfitter for adventure trips. Our room was big, plenty of space to walk around but small bathroom. It was clean and recently remodelled but I think they forgot to replace the bathroom door, it was hard to close completely and really dirty, the only downside for us. We really liked the medium-sized fridge.

Reasonably priced.Service was prompt and friendly. They do have AAA rates if you ask for it, it doesn't show up if book directly on their website. The kids loved the heated pool.

Overall, we had a very nice stay. Would not hesitate to come back.

Thank you for responding pleasantly about your stay at the Bowen. After reading this I tracked down the bathroom door you are speaking of and it has been repaired and cleaned up, it did get missed during the remodel. Thanks for pointing it out. Look forward to your return. Our reservation site is not capable of allowing the discounts we offer but you are right, please ask and if you qualify we have a number of them to offer.

stayed here last fall why on a road trip with my wife. she had never been to Moab and I was privileged to be with her the first time. the Bowen motel had a room when not many reasonably priced rooms were available. my bad for forgetting about the big 4x4 weekend. the Bowen was clean and quiet. there is a nice lite coffee and pastry shop just around the corner towards town.

Thank you for your kind comments. Check out some of the sites specific to Moab next time you visit, they have the calendar of events listed. Any special event or holiday is listed and you may avoid the higher rates and busy times. I would provide them for you but it is against Tripadvisor policy.
