We wanted to do Arches, but gut "stuck" with this hike instead. It took us approximately 45-50 minutes to hike this trail with several stops along the way.
My 12 year old daughter had no problem with the ladder and the ropes in the difficult part of the sections. HOWEVER if you can't hold on to a rope and support you weight I would not recommend this hike.

My mom (65 years) passed on this for that specific reason. I did however saw several older people in their 50 doing this hike with no problem at all. Other than the rope and the ladder this is a reasonably easy hike.

This was a long planned bucket-list trip to the national parks that was interrupted by the government shutdown. Thank you Congress! Thank goodness for the NV, UT, CO, AZ state parks and Native American tourist sites. Follow Rt. 279 10 miles along the Colorado River west of Moab and you will find this trail. It was our opportunity to see an arch formation outside of the national park. Unlike the parks, there is no posted assessment of these side trails. It is only 1.5 miles to the arch but allow at least 2 hours for a round trip. It is not for the faint of heart, albeit, we saw some folks with babies and pets along this trail. The climb includes passing unique rock formations and overlooks of the deep canyon leading up to the named arch. Be prepared to do some climbing up a rock face (cable hold) and ladder to get to the arch. The climb is well worth it. The view of the Colorado back at the base and along Rt. 279 is also picturesque.

As the national parks were closed while we were there due to Congress closing down the government, this beautiful arch was one of the few you could hike to. Stunning, a short hike, but be prepared for a vigorous climb up and down, with cables and a ladder to be traversed. Well worth a trip even when the parks are open.

We visited Moab during the government shutdown and had to find other things to besides Arches and Canyonlands, both of which were closed at the time. Corona arch is a fantastic hike!

You gotta do this hike! Kid friendly with ladders and chains and cairns and cool things to look at. Easy walk. With 2 teens we walked from the parking lot to the arch in 41 minutes. I may never be the same :)
