Our tour guide Mike took my family of 4 on a hike through the Fiery Furnace in April of 2013. Mike was super professional, knowledgeable, and most of all fun to be around. We explored many nooks and crannies that the ranger guides would just pass by. Mike gave us useful knowledge and facts of the surrounding area as well as the plants, rocks, arches, wildlife, etc. through-out the tour. We highly recommend going with Mike or any of his guides we felt like we were lead into the desert with the very best guide out there that day.

I spent two full days with Mike; one with a husband, too, and one solo. We hiked 11 miles on Day One to Chesler Park and The Needles; Day Two, he took me on a more meandering, less proscribed hike near Klondike Bluffs, where we found "the hand of man" in ancient tools, turned up fossilized dinosaur bones (which we left) and climbed amazing slickstone ramps and fins to high views. He brought sandwiches and a great set of stories--educational (about the geology, botany and history of whatever we were hiking past) and descriptive (about his alternate professions as a Search and Rescue volunteer in Moab, a photographer, a writer and an environmental activist). It made all the difference to see this area of the country with a passionate guide, and he was the right one for us. Also, has wicked humor, which comes in handy by Mile 10.

Mike guided us on an all day hike of 11 miles in the Canyonlands National Park from Elephant Hill to Chesler Park and the Joint Trail. He was professional, knowledgeable and highly experienced, and the result was a day that I will never forget.

My husband and I really enjoyed our tour of the Firery Furnace with Mike in December of 2012. He was most informative, prompt and gracious despite the short notice of our tour. He was quite knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Enjoyed every minute.

I have been on 2 backcountry 4WD camping trips with Mike (2010 and 2012). Both trips were planned to emphasize photo oportunities. I can't wait to go again, hopefully this year. Mike seems to know every jeep road and trail and always plans a great experience. He is also a great outfitter and has thought of all the practical details.
