“Overpriced”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

We always stay at one of the Hilton properties while travelling. We chose Hampton Inn because we have always had good luck at those properties. This was one of the worst Hampton Inn's we have stayed at. The staff is not very knowledgeable about their own property. When we first arrived our room was stuffy and hot. I tried to turn on the thermostat and it would not work. I called the front desk staff for assistance and the girl walked me thru the procedure, which I had already done. The unit did not work. She sent maintenance down to see what the problem was. When maintenance arrived, he informed us the wall thermostat was no longer being used and they haven't removed them yet and to use the unit under the window. To me, it makes sense that the entire staff would know this. The unit under the window would work fine during the day but at night did not appear to come on. I had the unit down as far as it would go (to 60) and we were still very warm at night and in the mornings when we awoke.

We also came back from a day out and when we returned to our room found that it had been only half cleaned. How do you get interrupted and not finish cleaning the room? Our bed was made and we had new shampoo, etc but the bench at the end of the bed was pushed out at one end, our used towels were still on the bathroom floor and no new towels were left, the coffee maker was not cleaned and no new coffee was left. This situation was taken care of when we called housekeeping.

The eggs at breakfast were horrible. They tasted like badly cooked powered eggs. I couldn't eat them.

This Hampton Inn was also the priciest one we have ever stayed at. It was a good $50/night higher than anywhere we have ever stayed and that was during the week. The weekend was an additional $100 per night.

This appears to be a newer property on the North end of Moab. Very clean, comfortable beds. No fridge or microwave in our room, which was a basic king. Typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Front desk staff could have been friendlier.

This is probably the newest lodging property in Moab, although others are currently renovating. It is typical of any newer Hampton Inn properties, which means you can expect a clean and well-maintained hotel. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub which were nice. A basic free breakfast is included, though at times the available seating is full. I had no issues with sound from outside, the hallway, or other rooms - everything was quiet. The flatscreen HDTV had satellite service with hundreds of channels - but most people don't come to Moab to watch TV. Being a recreation destination, I was disappointed to learn that not all rooms provide a mini fridge - so be aware of this if you have a need to keep things cold. My only complaint was something that has been mentioned in many other reviews here: the A/C unit would stop working at night, leaving the room to get warmer than was comfortable.

We stayed two nights in April and the hotel was full. We had a double and the room was spacious and clean with the normal amenities-coffee maker, TV with a ton of Direct TV channels, but no fridge. Staff very helpful. Continental breakfast was just OK, unless you like making your own waffles. They had pre-made omelettes everyday, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, and muffins. The computers in the business center were not up to date on virus protection and were too slow to work-I didn't trust them. The hotel is one of the pricier ones in the area but compared to what i saw, the nicest. Very close to Arches. Avoid the Mexican food restaurant next door (la Hacienda). Sub-par food and service.

Room Tip: We were in room 102. Quiet and away from main thoroughfare. Don't stay near the ice machine.

The hotel is conveniently located on Main St. in Moab, UT. You can walk to almost all attractions in town. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, AND they have free cookies! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It was a welcome respite after a week of camping in Canyonlands NP!

Located right on Main Street just across from Maverick North, this newer hotel to Moab is great. It may not have all the amenities like a fridge and microwave that do come in handy but its a great hotel regardless. I used to live in Moab and was back for the first time in 7 years and was excited to try this new hotel. Being on the north side of town, it made it easy to get to Arches and Canyonlands, and when you are waking up for the sunrise at Mesa Arch, every extra minute helps! We also went up into Arches in the middle of the night to do some star gazing and if it wasnt for the full moon, the millions of stars that come out at night would have been doubled. The location made it easy to convince my companion to make the short drive into Arches. The breakfast was standard but good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Me and my traveling companion stayed two nights and the first night they were pretty busy but there was plenty of parking available and even more spots were empty in the back corner. Since we stayed during the off-season the pool was not open but it looked like a nice pool area. There is also a nice picnic area at the back of the hotel, up on the hill amongst the red rock. I am looking forward to a summer return to this hotel.

It was a frustrating experience staying here. The staff were nice and tried to be helpful, but they were overworked and there was insufficient staff at the hotel. The wall control for A/C unit in our room did not work, and the controls on the unit itself did not work properly. It was impossible to either keep the room cool or even keep the fan running to have some air movement.

The hotel seems pretty new, and the rooms are in good shape otherwise and clean. The room was quiet. The pool is small but functional. The breakfast is standard Hampton Inn fare.

It seems very petty that they charge extra for a fridge in the room.

Room Tip: Make sure the A/C unit works properly.
