“fire doors”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Hotel is good but they do not comply with fire security as the fire doors in the stairs remain open all day and night long. I told about this problem 2 times without effect to 3 different employees at the front desk. These stairs doors must be closed to avoid smoke entering in the stairs in case of fire...it is basic but highly important.

Solid hotel in downtown Moab is good place to stay during your visit to this part of Utah. We spent three nights. Room was quiet and staff helpful. The complimentary morning breakfast was very good for this class of hotel. You are less than ten minutes from Arches and depending which part if Canyonlands you visit between 30 and 60 minutes. These two Parks have breathtaking features and are both must-sees.

We are Diamond Hampton Inn customers and this is because we know what we are getting a clean, no frills room with and ok breakfast for a decent price. As Diamond members we usually feel like we are being treated extra special due to our loyalty to the chain.

This hotel was almost what we expected no frills with an ok breakfast. The price was quite high (with taxes we paid just over $200 for a basic room). I did have to clean the bath a little bit, but it wasn't horrible and I am quite picky. Beds were very comfy. The place was sold out as the location is fantastic, a few miles from Arches and about a half hour from on of the Canyonlands entransces.

My only major complaint was our room. We looked at a junk yard and a rock, I found the room depressing to be in as we kept the night shades shut the entire time. Given there are really no price variations at the hotel (only suite and non-suite), I would have thought we would at least be given a room with a view of something other than an junkyard. The friendly check in clerk asked how we liked our room when we left for dinner and I had to tell him the truth, that it was depressing. His helpful colleague offered to switch our rooms given our status, but at that point we had unpacked and didn't want to take the time to move. If better rooms were available, I would have thought we would have gotten a nicer view from the get go.

For the same price I would not stay at this location again. There is a new looking Holiday Inn Express down the street which looks like it had nicer views and I am sure is cheaper.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in front facing something other than the junkyard.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel in Moab. As with all the Hampton Inns you know exactly what you're getting - a friendly welcome, clean and nicely appointed rooms, free 24hr coffee and free breakfast in the morning. We also brought along our little notepad so made good use of the free Wi-Fi which helped enormously with our vacation planning. I have no complaints about the breakfast as I stick to bagels, toast, fruit and cereal so suits me just fine. Hubby sometimes has the cooked option and found it quite acceptable. We like the fact that we can walk into town for dinner and browse the shops, leaving the car behind. As I said, this is the third time we have used this hotel as a base and that says it all.

The hotel is just fine. The place is clean. Breakfast is not too good...reheated eggs and pastry's from the grocery store. We were supposed to have a suite room, but it turned out it was a large handicap room. Lots of room, but not a lot of atmosphere. We also had noisy neighbors. Not a problem for the hotel, just thin walls. We were only there for 2 nights while we toured the National Parks. Not a romance destination by any means.

Thank you for staying with us in Moab as you toured the beautiful parks nearby. I appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with the appropriate departments on property. I understand that you were disappointed with your breakfast and we will pass that on to our Brand Standards team for their review. I apologize that noise from other guests was an issue and will ask our team to keep their ears open for disruptions after dark. We know how important a good night’s rest is while traveling and we want to provide a quiet and relaxing environment for our guests. The next time you are in town we hope you will visit us again. Thank you again for staying with us and for your input.

Allthough nothing special, the Hampton Inn is a good base for exploring the Arches National Park. The rate includes free wifi and a reasonable breakfast, spoiled slightly by it being served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. The rooms are large and it is within walking distance of Moab's many restaurants.

We had a pleasant stay at the Hampton Inn in Moab in late August. The bottom line is that, if you are familiar with Hampton Inns, then you will find the experience very familiar.

The front desk staff were very nice, polite, and helpful. They gave us advice on where to eat and helped us with to-go bags for an early departure. They didn't show the slightest bit of irritation when we locked our key cards in the room - twice.

The rooms were fairly spacious, clean, and fresh. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels. I wish we could have gotten a king bed but, for whatever reason, the only room we could get had two queen beds. No big deal. Housekeeping kept the room tidy, but consistently cranked the air conditioning down to the mid 60's. We had to shut it off to let the room warm up to a reasonable temperature.

The facilities were generally good. The exercise facility was bigger and better equipped than most Hampton Inns I've stayed at. It was really quite good. The pool was pretty small and seemed crowded if there were more than 5 people in it. The hot tub was a nice touch.

The breakfast buffet was just ok. My wife suspected the eggs were powdered. The cereal selection could have been better. For the most part it gave us what we needed and it was certainly convenient. The eating area was actually quite nice.

The location of the hotel is very good. It's toward the north end of main street within walking distance, or a short drive, of many restaurants and shops. And, of course, it is a short drive to Arches and Canyonlands N.P.s. From the looks of the other hotels in town, I don't believe you could do a whole lot better than this hotel. Moab is nice, but it's not a location that exactly spawns a lot of luxury hotels. All told, this hotel did the trick.

Room Tip: I'm not sure there's a big difference between any of the rooms.
