I must admit, we came with high expectations, given the reviews and the $160 price tag, which is not exactly cheap for a Hampton Inn. To sum things up quickly, here is what we liked and didn't like.

Good:

Location, location, location: 5-10 minutes to Arches NP and outside the busy downtown area.
Clean, new, modern hotel with ample parking space.
Rooms are clean & modern and the beds are very good. Bathrooms are o.k.

Moderate:

No Fridge in the room! For a hotel close to National Parks and w/o any food/beverage outlets, a fridge in the room is kind of an expectation for me. As a matter of fact it was only hotel on this entire trip without a fridge.

Not so good:

As others have noted, if you have a Hilton VIP membership, if means nothing at this property. Even within the same room category, don't expect any better rooms. Recognition is zero other than (we have your number on file), not even the 'must do' like some water and snacks in the room are not happening at this property.

Wifi and wired is slow. During the evening hours it was impossible to catch up with work because even the smallest files could not be downloaded (PC, Mac; wired or wireless). If they offer free wifi, they better up their bandwidth.

Breakfast was always crowded and items were routinely 'out'. Don't get me wrong, not 'out' in the sense that refill was slow ... they were 'out'. If you are a jam type of guy, bring you own, except for the last day, they only had grape jelly (not even strawberry). They should be able to better forecast the demand and order enough items; having several items out every day is not acceptable

Servicing of the room was very sloppy. Twice we didn't get coffee refilled and once the Kleenex box remained empty as well. This is pretty simple stuff, but they apparently didn't care.

Don't leave valuables in the room! They issue room keys to whoever asks! So here is the story: My wife's room key demagnetized; this happens every once in a while and usually you have to go to the front desk and after showing your ID you get a new key. Well, at this property, you don't have to show any ID! My wife was simply asked 'which room' and seconds later she had a new key. Very concerning practice and it just adds all up to poor service and attitude at this hotel.

You will realize that I listed all 'hard product' details as 'excellent' and this hotel could easily get 4-5* just based on the location, property and rooms. With the level of service it is worth no more than 3 in my opinion.

Attentive staff, clean property. My only beef was that my HHonors Gold status got me nothing from the hotel (suites were all booked so no upgrade there...). Pool was fine but the week was cold and the pool was shaded by the hotel a good part of the time. Great location, still close to town but on the north side so easy to get out to Arches. Breakfast spread was fantastic for a freebie, clean and staffed by multiple employees.

Room Tip: Book AAA rate

Generally this Hampton Inn is up to the quality one expects of this chain i.e. friendly and efficient desk personnel, super clean room and bath, comfy beds, etc. This Hampton was above the expected quality in re the quality of their breakfast foods viz. very tasty and well prepared. The only issue is that, as a semi-resort property, they should have expected that guests as families with kids and also as groups might be more likely to party and gather together in associated guest rooms and converse loudly as a group and have poorly controlled kids. If they had had that expectation they would have made their rooms more soundproof. This is the only Hampton at which we've stayed (out of many many) where the quietness of the room was an issue. If we go back to Moab (and we will), we might stay here again but would insist upon a room that was not in proximity to loud guests.

Room Tip: Make certain that you are not adjacent to a room with uncontrolled children or a party room for a group.

Loved it. New property. Very clean. We were out for a bike trip and had no issues. The breakfast was better than many free places. Had a small glitch with my A/C unit thermostat which was promptly fixed. Hot tub and pool were clean and great. Nothing bad to say about this location. Will definitely stay again.

Check-In inefficient. Clerk could not find the reservation. Clerk not very friendly. Hotel very full for Spring Break. Parking a challenge due to large vehicles pulling off-road vehicles parked in the parking lot. Sleep quality OK - Had a room next to the Hwy and did hear some Highway noise. Pool and Hot-Tub area are nice. Pool is at 82 degrees. Hot-Tub nice and warm. Well stocked and maintained during the day - neglected at night, i. e. no towels and little supervision. Breakfast OK with decent selection. Yes, this is a tourist area, but $200+ is a stretch for this kind of facility and service.
