The road follows the Colorado River. Along the way there are signs pointing out locations of petroglyphs - two bow and arrow hunters vs a bear is our favorite. There is also a site to view dinosaur tracks. A small hike allows you to get closer to view them up close.

Take a ride up Potash road and you will see signs on the left for the Petroglyphs on the right. What a neat thing to see right there on the road!

It was well worth the quick side trip down Potash Road to view the ancient native petroglyphs, fossilized dinosaur footprints, and finally see the river up close after gazing down from far above it in Canyonlands NP.

Awesome trail...sort of flat at sections so best to hike, but has AWESOME views of the CO River and offers a great vantage point for pictures that turn out so good that they look like you ordered them or had them painted...for real...and what relationship to potatoes...??? Who knows, but you can research it at this really cool hisotrical research center in the middle of town when you get back from the hike.

We had a little trouble finding this at first but once we got dialed in, we found with no issue. Nice stop on our way out of town, not too far off the main highway.
