Potash Road was a beautiful fall day drive. I was able to find petroglyphs - but didn't have a map yet - so I missed a lot of them. The ones I did see were impressive. When I returned to Moab I bought a booklet with information and maps.

Lots of Rock Art just on the side of the road, with the Colorado River on the other side. Also Dinosaur tracks and Jug Handle Arch.

Potash road is like driving in the Grand Canyon. It has steep walls of rock on both sides and many impressive pull outs that one has to stop at. This was one of the best little roads we took in the area.

Wow, this road runs next to the Colorado River. The river is muddy but man is it powerful. Threw a rock into it and the swirl moved 3 feet before the sound dissipated. The Indian art spans thousands of years and conveys everything from hunters and animals to ... maybe aliens. The downside is that on some panels ignorant, stupid, childish, hateful, people have scratched in graffiti and in one case totally desecrated truly exquisite art. Be sure to see the dinosaur footprints.

It was terrible. Noisy, buggy, and probably radioactive. Cars were driving by all night at the Williams bottom campround, but if you are just going for a drive that would be fine. Check out Corona Arch and the little Jug handle.
