We usually stay at hotel chains, but we were pleasantly surprised by the smaller and more motel-like, Gonzo Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were extremely comfortable, with all the necessities. Nice, clean rooms! We stayed for several days while hiking and rafting around Moab. The swimming pool and outside patio areas were relaxing and clean.

With La Fiesta Mexicana Mexican Restaurant and Western River Expeditions right across the street, we had everything we needed right at our doorstep.

We would definitely stay here again!

So many pluses to this establishment-location within walking distance of restaurants and shops, perfectly situated for touring Arches and Canyonlands, interesting decor, very good free breakfast, flavored water urn in lobby, coin laundry with super quick washer and hot dryers, generous and helpful attitude by all staff members and even a cute bat (yes, a tiny bat) over the outside light fixture. Wish we could have stayed longer, it was that nice. Pool and hot tub were both very clean and separate towels are provided for free.

When choosing our hotel in Moab we were faced with a long list of Motels with none of them really standing out. We chose the Gonzo Inn based on the reviews and for the most part the reviews match our experience. I have come to believe that with Trip Advisor reviewers expectations and experiences vary greatly and this property's reviews were no exception. Many people rave about the Gonzo, but I will not. This is an above average Motel that meets expectations, but nothing more. It has a ski lodge aura, with clean rooms and good beds, and the rooms (especially the suites, which we had) are nice sized. The pool is nice, the location good, they offer a nice breakfast--especially if you have kids, the staff is friendly and professional, and it is a quiet property. After seeing the competition in Moab, this is probably as good as it gets.

The hotel was very nice with a nicely funky decor. There were some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with tasty muffins. It would have been better if there had been a bar on the premises for a nightcap.

The Gonzo Inn provided a delightful respite before and after rafting, hiking, and climbing the magical confines of Moab, Utah. A family friendly, accommodating staff proved themselves endlessly. Simple touches like icy cold, mildly flavored water at the door, easily attained additional linens, or extra efforts of the night auditor fixing-up a 5:30 A.M. scrumptious hot breakfast prior to our rafting soothed and comforted children (and "oldies" too) far from home. Rooms and patios facing pool were comfy and clean; pool well kept, and small on-site laundry facility appreciated.

Pretty hefty title, right? Well for me, the Gonzo Inn had everything I like in a hotel and more.
Our king room was great - super comfortable bed, good pillows (one of my peeves is a bad pillow) a balcony and a door that opened onto it (another of my peeves are windows that don't open) with a view of the pool and green grass. The furnishings are funky but don't read that as "shabby" because they weren't. Our work table had a purple concrete top, we had two dressers, plenty of room to open our bags and hang clothes. The sink is outside the w/c (which I like a lot) and the shower is a walk in, large concrete stall! It was excellent with good water pressure. On top of that, they had original art on the wall! ta-da! (Nothing bums me out more than cookie-cutter prints on the wall of a hotel room...) We had laundry facilites below our room which made it easy to clean up our hot desert clothes. Breakfast was great - with multiple waffle machines, good bagels and real fruit salad - not the pre-frozen or canned mixtures that you often get. (Some folks were really raving about the biscuits and gravy but that's not my idea of breakfast!) The staff was terrific, great recommendations and helpful advice. Love, love, loved it. Tried to stay another night but they were sold out. Would definitely stay here again and can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back overlooking the pool area.

After hiking Arches, we looked forward to a clean and well air conditioned place to stay. The Gonzo Inn was pleasant and was like going back in time. A little retro, very cool. The bed was comfy, the long, concrete shower was terrific, and it was a lovely evening in Moab, Utah. Breakfast was included. It was nothing special but good enough. I enjoyed my stay.
