“Nice hotel for downtown Moab”
Reviewed September 17, 2011

The Gonzo Inn in Moab seems to be one of the nicer hotels in town, and because it's right in the middle of the town it's convenient to restaurants, the parks and other outdoor recreation. It's location one block off Main St. makes it a little more peaceful, though. I would agree with the previous reviewer to ask for a room overlooking the lovely pool area. The hotel is clean, the staff is accomodating. The only con is the breakfast -- fewer choices than even a chain hotel continental breakfast, although the coffee was better than average.

Room Tip: Second floor overlooking the pool.

Gonzo Inn is a fun, funky, unexpected getaway tucked just one block off the main drag in Moab, Utah. Probably the nicest hotel in the area. Each room has a patio or deck. There is also a wonderful pool and hot tub to lounge in after a day mountain biking or hiking in nearby Arches National Park. We have stayed there at least 8 times and never been disappointed. Quite a nice expansive breakfast is included in the price of the room. Love this place!

Room Tip: Request a room that looks out onto the secluded back yard.

We stayed at the Gonzo Inn because it looked like one of the few options in Moab for a "nicer" lodging. We really liked it! We had a king suite that was more like an apartment...very spacious with a great-sized balcony. The hotel has a very funky, quirky feel to it that definitely makes it unique. This is not a cookie-cutter hotel and that's what we liked about it. The location is off Main Street just enough to feel quieter and calmer, but easily within walking distance of restaurants and cute little shops. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was unique. The room has little unexpected touches; even the toilet paper holder wasn't what you'd expect! We had three bats hanging right outside our door to welcome us...so cute! We would definitely stay here again.

Gonzo Inn, located just off the main drag in Moab, has a lot of fun things going for it. First of all, they have tried to make this more than a basic motel. The decor is fun and funky. The gift shop has loads of cool rock-climbing themed and hippy-cool goodies. We were fascinated by the special open showers in the rooms - not gross, really interesting! They are built out of sealed cement and are very private but no door, just walk in (in your room, of course).
The jacuzzi and pool were very nice, even in late April when it ought to be cold.

Rooms were clean, neat and very accessible. The continental breakfast was good, although a trifle unimaginative, but hey! we're not complaining. It was a great place to come home too at the end of a day hiking around Arches, and a good place to start off from when headed into other interesting sights, including Canyonlands and along the Colorado River.

The hotel is located within walking distance of some very nice souvenir shops and restaurants. Moab is an easy town to get around, and Gonzo is located just right for most of what you want.

Stayed for 1 night while passing through Moab. Wished I had planned to stay longer. Moab is a town with very few decent choices for accomodations if you are accostomed to better hotels. The Gonzo Inn will satisfy your needs if you fit this bill. The room was spotless and decorated well. The king size bed was one of the best I have slept on while traveling. The sheets and blankets were very nice. I cannot say enough to describe this Inn. Looking at lodging in Moab, this has to be one of if not the best place to stay.

Stayed here before and after we went rafting. Hotel neat, clean and eclectic decor. Bathroom showers cool. Definitely would stay again. Don't eat the hard boiled eggs for breakfast, not sure if they are real eggs or rubber. That's it, all was great!

This is one of the "upper end" motels in Moab, but it is worth the reasonable price. It is clean, well managed, has a nice swimming pool, is off Main Street, shaded by trees and lawn, and within walking distance of many shops and amenities. During my prior visit to Moab, the air conditioning did not work (froze up) at two of the motels I tried. The air conditioning worked very well at the Gonzo Inn. Beds were large and comfortable, bathrooms more than adequate. "Green" practices, such as opting out of daily maid service, were available. Altogether a great experience. We had adjoining rooms with a one of them a suite with good kitchen and living room facilities - great for family vacations.

Room Tip: Our rooms faced west and north, so were quieter and cooler than some.
