“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed August 11, 2009

The rooms were clean, cool, and met all of our needs. The hotel has a great breakfast and was a very comfortable place to stay. It is a little outside of town, so you need to drive to most places, which was the only drawback.

Basically, it had everything you could want in a travel hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. The pool area was inviting with a Spa. The service was friendly. My only dislike was the processed eggs for breakfast.

We spent 3 nights in a family suite at the Aarchway Inn. Let me just say that the room was HUGE! We loved it. It had a queen sized bed, a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. There was a ton of room between all the beds. The bathroom was nice and the staff kept the room tidy. The staff at the hotel were very nice. My kids used the pool several times and really enjoyed it. The breakfast had a large selection of foods. Sometimes some of the items (especially the scrambled eggs) did not get replaced very often but there were so many choices that it was not really a problem. We liked the location of the hotel since it was a bit outside of the town and thus a but quieter. It was very close to Arches National Park which was convenient. I would definitely stay here the next time we were in Arches. We loved Moab.

Stayed here for two nights. The grounds are quite nice, especially in the back past the outdoor pool. Landscaped, flowers, in a park-like setting. Good for relaxing and watching the sunset over the mountains. The motel is just outside town; who cares anyway? Exterior room had a bit of noise from the cars if you keep window open. Motel is near the entrance to Arches which is good for late evening drive, short hike. Free breakfast is pretty good as far as these types of breakfasts are. Room was clean, beds good. Microwave, fridge. It was high season so the price was higher than it should be. But I would stay here again......in an interior room which overlook pool.

After reading many reviews was not sure we would find anything suitable in Moab but stopped at the Aarchway Inn and we were pleasantly surprised. The Inn is being renovated, probably for the 2009 season. Room was large, clean with comfortable beds, microwave, refrigerator and free breakfast. Not gourmet food (mostly frozen things to reheat) but plenty of it. Nice indoor jacuzzi. Large pool, not yet open. Great location close to Arches.

Since Moab is a kickoff point for rafting trips and also a seasonal spot I am sure later in the season rooms are beginning to show signs of abuse and staffing is probably by part time college students, which would explain the negative reviews of most motels in Moab. Now that I know how emply Moab is off season, it will be my preference. Parks are empty, weather is great for hiking. Hotel prices are cheap.

I really loved staying at the Aarchway Inn -- it's clean, and it's certainly the closest hotel to Arches National Park. It's also straight down the road from Canyonlands NP -- can't beat the location.

The rooms were clean, attractive, and definitely worth the (very reasonable) price. I'd checked rates at other hotels in the area before a local friend recommended Aarchway Inn to me, and when I got to Moab, I saw that more expensive properties were not as well-maintained or attractive.

Personally, I appreciated the fact that the property is 100% non-smoking; however, if you have smokers traveling with you, you might wish to reconsider (my husband smokes and simply went outside -- no big deal for us, but others might object).

The only down side was the breakfast: Things had been sitting out a little too long, making them pretty unappetizing, and the coffee was a bit watery for my taste. But a little juice and cereal was fine, and the breakfast misadventure was more than forgiven by the otherwise-clean and attractive property conveniently located close to any adventure you'd ever want.

One thing to keep in mind: Their website (http://aarchwayinn.com/) makes it clear that they are the only agent to make reservations directly at the property -- they don't accept reservations made through third party vendors. But it's definitely worth the phone call or email to them at the number/address given in the reservations section of their website http://aarchwayinn.com/reservations/. Personally, I called and had a nice chat with the manager, which was very helpful.

  • Liked — Loved the friendly staff and the clean, comfortable rooms.
  • Disliked — The breakfast -- food wasn't fresh.

We booked through Just America (UK company who plan tailormade holidays across the US). The hotel was fantastic. We had 2 rooms on the ground floor which looked out to the pool area. The rooms were large, clean and tidy. Bathroom was perfect too. The pool area was amazing - loads of loungers and tables with covers to get shade when it got a wee bit too hot! The staff were friendly and there were nice comfy sofas to sit in near reception. There was a computer in the reception area too which overlooked the pool and gave free internet access. The quality of breakfast was good (not amazing compared to some of the other places we stayed in Colorado/Utah area) but there was a decent variety. The main thing that let it down was the plastic cups, plates and knives and forks!! I might sound fussy but we hadn't come across that anywhere else.

Location was perfect for exploring the Arches National Park - it was about a 10 minute drive to the main entrance way. If you wanted to go back into the main area of Moab for a wander or food you're better to take your car as it is a bit of a distance to walk. We ate at the Moab Brewery one night which has a brewery on site. The town didn't have a massive selection of good restaurants so I would say this seemed to be the best! Also recommend Tag-A-Long Expeditions who are based on Main Street, Moab. We did an afternoon drive through Canyonlands which is to the north-west of the town and only this company have access to the area. For the photographers, there are some AMAZING sites, for the adventurers there are some VERY close to the edge driving manoeuvres made and for the film lovers, you get to see where Thelma and Louise "drove" their car off the cliff in the final scene.

  • Liked — The location, cleanliness/size of rooms and great pool area.
  • Disliked — Breakfast was average and the breakfast room was cramped. Oh and plastic knives and forks!!
