“Stay Here Not There!”
Reviewed March 24, 2014 via mobile

We drove to the end of town looking for Holiday Inn and they were busy so drove next door to Aarches Inn and what a wonderful surprise!! The outside is not designed as beautiful as the inside. The reception area is beautiful with windows overlooking a courtyard and outside HEATED pool. For the month of March you never find a heated pool!
The rooms are exceptionally nice with large granite showers, a separate area sink and prep area with micro and refrig. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The TV is small but who cares when you are next to Arches National park.
The court yard is well groomed with a large play area for children and a basket ball court. The pool was wonderful and warm. We even had a visitor from holiday inn come by and she was complaining about their pool being cold because it was not heated, she was envious of what Aarches Inn had to offer.
The staff was kind, and gave us information and maps of the area.
Our rate was great, but it is a little off season and we showed up on Sunday after 7:00 pm. This rate includes breakfast.
For this area all rates are higher but you get so much more by staying here than other chains!!!

Due to time constraints related to participating in the Canyonlands Half-marathon, we only stayed 1 night, however, my overall impression of this establishment is mixed. By not bookog our room well in advance, we had limited options and Aarchway got the nod, but not for the pricing, which I suspect was "adjusted' for the race weekend. The room was satisfactory -- clean and well lit, but the lack of an elevator meant schleping our bags onto the second floor (not much fun). When checking in, the desk attendant was minimally helpful, displaying an unnecessarily aggressive attitude towards other members of my party. The complimentary breakfast was adequate.

Room Tip: Book your room as far in advance as possible.

Your comments regarding your recent stay are much appreciated, have been discussed with our entire staff, and taken seriously. I am happy to report that elevators are installed and are awaiting inspection, after which they will be up and running to every floor. We hope you continue to participate in the Half Marathon and visit Moab again soon.

The breakfast is just the standard fare of Sysco supplied plain scrambled eggs poured from a carton, breakfast sausage links, not very good frozen from a box and thawed breakfast burritos, and some blah breakfast potatoes.

There is also yogurt, blueberry bread, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and some fruit. Bacon is only on Sunday. The coffee is very good. My kids kept telling me the milk tasted weird.

I travel often, and I know a good and bad breakfast, and this was just average, but below Denny's in quality. I stayed for 3 days; some variety in breakfast menu would have been appreciated, maybe switching out the breakfast links with real sausage, or a variety with the eggs, along with higher quality food choices. The fruit is presented in a way that does not look fresh.

I just stayed at a Red Arrow Inn in Montrose, CO at half the price and when I walked in to breakfast the kitchen staff asked me how I would like my eggs. The eggs had peppers and other variety, as an example.

There is a "tacky" sign by the ice machine asking not to use the ice for your cooler, but rather pay for bags of ice up front. I can't see this costing the hotel a lot of money and seems rather petty. The hotel was near empty so my usage would not have prevented others from getting ice, so we used the ice machine for our small ice chest anyways.

The hotel itself looks 40 years old and has a rustic signature, but overall clean. The bathrooms are clean and remodeled and the TV was modern.

The breakfast staff were friendly, but the cleaning and hotel staffs do not welcome you as you enter or leave the hotel or as you pass by them in the hallway. If you go up and speak to them they are polite but when you walk into the hotel their heads are buried in a book or computer.

We experienced multiple issues with the Internet via WiFi connection. The access point was fine, but we lost connection on multiple days for at least 20-30 minutes each time.

The 2x Queen room has enough room to fit a double air mattress.

No elevator. Long walks to get "around". Older keys with key chains that were bulky, how spoiled we are. Nice long breakfast hour.
Prices being quoted verbally were 1/2 of what we paid. Beware of the price gouging that all the hotels are doing for the weekend of the marathon? Supply and demand?
I would stay there at regular prices though.
Campgrounds kept prices the same during 1/2 marathon weekend!

Room Tip: Take one close to the outside door. Those close quieter than the inside doors.

We appreciate your comments regarding your recent stay. I apologize that our elevators were not operational during your stay. We had them installed over the winter, when prices are as you indicated, half of what we charge during the high season. We are thrilled that he elevators are scheduled for their inspection and as soon as they are approved, they will be available to all guests. As with all hotels, our rates do fluctuate, however, if compared with all hotels in Moab for the same date, you will find that we are extremely competitive. Moab is an extremely popular city to visit and new hotels are in the process of being built to help visitors locate accommodations that fit their needs and price point. We all hope you have an opportunity to visit Moab again soon and allow Aarchway Inn the opportunity to serve you again.

Followed the advise of other Trip advisor users and checked out the Aarchway Inn. In addition to great off season rates we were also offered our AAA discount. Great stay for all four nights. Perfect location for Arches and Canyonlands. Clean, helpful and good breakfast. Would definitely stay again even with all the options in Moab.

Room Tip: Front desk will advise on mountain view rooms or other options.

The Aarchway Inn sits just minutes from the entrance to Arches National Park. Their rooms are spacious and comfortable and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their free breakfast actually is worth eating beginning at 6:00am. They are doing some remodeling and the results have been very good. The only complaint is the very old jaccuzzi. Very old and needs replacing. Hopefully, their remodeling will include a new one. And the nightly rates are decent. Also their wifi works great.

We held a small 40ish person wedding at this hotel using the ampitheater in the back. Everything turned out great! The hotel was very accommodating with the help of Brittany who supported all of our planning. We also had a pre-wedding BBQ in the same ampitheather area where grills were provided by the hotel along with the necessary tools. There was seating, lighting and a place to hook up a small sound system.

The pool and hot tub are very nice, as well as the courtyard area that also has grills available for cookouts. There is a basketball court and nice play area for younger kiddos, too.

They were replacing mattresses in all rooms and installing elevators during our stay, which will add to the overall comfort of the hotel.

The absolute only "complaint" was not being able to bring our dog. She's part of the family and would have loved cruising around in Moab. As it stands she had fun with a week-long sleepover at grandma's! :-)

We all thank you for your great comments regarding your recent wedding experience as well as your stay with us. We wish you heartfelt congratulations on your marriage. We realize the no pet policy is sometimes a hardship for our guests but we are very happy your dog had a great time at Grandma's. Thank you again for thinking of Aarchway for your wedding and for your wonderful review of the hotel.
