“Could be better!”
Reviewed October 22, 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights with friends from KC. We were allocated the "barbed wire" room. So named because there's a lot of strands of barbed wire adorning the bed! (Keith does metal work, about which he will tell you at length!). The wire wasn't a problem, apart from the fact that it was thick with dust!!

The house in is a lovely quiet location outside of town, within walking distance of the Colorado river. The common room is large & airy & there's plenty of room for lounging around & enjoying a drink from the well equipped hospitality bar. Breakfast is also served here by Nichol, Keith's assistant. There's a choice of fruit, cereals, juices etc & a daily cooked special. This was variable in quality.

If you require information on the local area attractions & restaurants then Keith will willingly provide it. It might take a while.

Overall a pleasant stay in a great location.

I usually camp in Moab. One of the main reasons is because the hotel offerings there are poor. I don't want to stay in a chain hotel in one of the most beautiful places in our country. But I've found a new home at the Adobe Abode. I'm afraid to let the secret out but I will for the benefit of the lovely owner, Keith. He and his late wife Lori truly built a special place - a labor of love. It's just outside of town so you get some quiet and awesome views. You can bike to locals trails, walk to town or just enjoy the stars from the hot tub. The architecture and artwork are beautiful. Keith is warm and friendly and will engage you if you like or leave you to your own devices. I'm not a B&B person but this place is different. It felt like home - right down to the yummy breakfast and free beer and wine in the afternoons.

And for the comments about the noise...we just turned on the fan in the bathroom to give ourselves more privacy in the evening. It's not loud there by any means. It's actually so quiet that you can hear someone walk down the hall. It's not a hotel. But the bathroom fan resolves any issues for sensitive ears. I will absolutely return to this gem of a place. Thanks Keith!

Room Tip: Loved the Barbed Wire room!

Our experience at this B&B is consistent with the others I have read on this site. We were travelling with another couple who had other accommodation and who dropped us off. Not only did Keith ask us to treat the place like our own home, he even suggested we treat our companions as our guests and enjoy the same amenities that were offered to us. Our room was separated from the others and had its own bathroom across the hall, however Keith supplied us with bathrobes to make the trip. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we hope to return some day and spend more than two nights.

We booked the Adobe Abode at the last minute for our trip to Moab and I am so happy that we found this place. We arrived in the afternoon to be greeted by the owner Keith, who showed us around his home and to our room. He told us to make ourselves comfortable to treat it like home. That is an easy thing to do here as the house has a wonderful feel to it. Keith build the house with this late wife and it is truly wonderful. The house is so spacious and light with lots of little places to relax and chat with the other guests. There is also enough space to escape if you do not want to chat to the guests too! Breakfast was lovely, the first morning served by Keith as it was only myself and my boyfriend and then by a great girl, Nicole who helps out. Keith was only to happy to share stories of happenings in Moab and his adventures in life. He gave us some useful recommendations and was able to answer all questions. Our room was spacious, particularly the lovely bathroom and we had our own patio, which was fantastic. I truly loved staying at the house and wish Keith every success for the future. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a great place to stay in Moab. Thank you Keith xx

This unique B&B was designed and built by artist owner, Keith Hermann. Superbly located just off the main drag of Moab nestled among red cliffs adjoining Nature Conservancy Land and just up the road from the Colorado River, the Adobe Abode is spotless and filled with good vibes. Moab is a great place to stay--located between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks--with great shops and restaurants. An excellent breakfast was prepared and served each morning by Nicole who works for Keith and does a super job. Keith keeps a fridge filled with beer, wine and cold drinks for guests(help yourself) and he is a wonderful host. Adobe Abode is small(I think they have 6 guest rooms), intimate yet private. If you are planning a visit to Moab I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Adobe Abode for 3 days in early August. Keith, the owner, was wonderfully welcoming and friendly. He built most of the furniture in the abode, and we loved the creativity and decor of the house. Our room, the Buffalo Room, was comfortable, charming and well-equipped. It had french doors opening to the patio, where we enjoyed watching the stars from the hammock swings. The common areas were a home away from home during our visit, and the refrigerator stocked with a variety of beverages was a welcome convenience. Keith was helpful in answering all our questions and in planning our itinerary in Arches and Canyonlands. Breakfast was served anytime after 8:00--delicious food, creative presentation, fantastic service with a smile--thank you Nicole! We were asked each day if we needed anything in our room and requests were honored promptly. We highly recommend the Adobe Abode for its warm hospitality, a friendly, enjoyable visit in Moab and quiet location not far from town.

My wife and I stayed at the Adobe Abode in Moab in early August 2011 as we though staying at a B&B would be a nice change from the chain hotels.
We were greeted by Keith the owner who is so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable about the area. Keith could not do enough for us and even popped into town For me when I had a blown fuse on the hire car....
He advised that we took a trip to see dead horse point for sunset. this wasnt in our plans but we went and wow - it was fantasic. It has to be seen to be believed!!
If you are in Moab, UT you really should go, but make sure you are there in plenty of time before Sunset to get the best out of it.
There was a complimentary stocked fridge with beers and wines which ended up as a talking point as Keiths favourite tipple is Newcastle Brown Ale and we are from Newcastle where it used to be brewed.
The building was built by keith and his late wife and it is fantastic with a really comfortable atmosphere. We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time.
Thanks Keith !!
