My husband and I stayed here, with another couple in the The Moenkopi Kayenta Suite. The prices were better than what we would have received had we remained in Moab, plus we wanted to experience something different. It was bit of a ways outside of the town, but the scenery along the way was very pretty. The distance didn't bother us, we just made sure we ate before we arrived.
The location is quiet, and very peaceful. The signs were well marked into the place, which was a relief. With no cell service we would have been lost. This is a small quiet community with no stores or gas stations.
The buildings were closer together than I imagined, but that truly was not a problem. There was still enough room to roam without bumping into others, or meet over at the hammock and strike up a conversation.
Our room, was located in the bottom of the main house. We knew that when we booked it, and having lived in basement apartments I knew what to expect. Early the next morning, fortunately I was awake, you could hear footsteps in the community room above us. Then, you can also hear the innkeepers in their room, just off the living room area.
The space itself was very nice. Not sure what I was expecting, but better than expected. You went down the steps and entered into the living area, with a couch, chair and tv. The the two rooms were off to the left. One is a little larger than the other, but both are nice. A nice perk which I didn't notice until packing the next day was the heat lamp.
Breakfast was french toast with coffee and juice. It was delicious. The eating area was small inside, and some guests looked uncomfortable having to share with others. However, that's part of the B&B experience, meeting new people. The tables looked out across the backyard of bird feeders. The window was wonderfully large.
The hosts of the day were very accommodating and friendly. They are what helped us have an enjoyable experience and knowing that we will be back again in the future. Next time we will try one of the cottages, but the room beneath the house gave us a taste of what we were looking for.
