“Quiet...peacefull”
Reviewed May 16, 2014

My husband and I stayed here, with another couple in the The Moenkopi Kayenta Suite. The prices were better than what we would have received had we remained in Moab, plus we wanted to experience something different. It was bit of a ways outside of the town, but the scenery along the way was very pretty. The distance didn't bother us, we just made sure we ate before we arrived.

The location is quiet, and very peaceful. The signs were well marked into the place, which was a relief. With no cell service we would have been lost. This is a small quiet community with no stores or gas stations.

The buildings were closer together than I imagined, but that truly was not a problem. There was still enough room to roam without bumping into others, or meet over at the hammock and strike up a conversation.

Our room, was located in the bottom of the main house. We knew that when we booked it, and having lived in basement apartments I knew what to expect. Early the next morning, fortunately I was awake, you could hear footsteps in the community room above us. Then, you can also hear the innkeepers in their room, just off the living room area.

The space itself was very nice. Not sure what I was expecting, but better than expected. You went down the steps and entered into the living area, with a couch, chair and tv. The the two rooms were off to the left. One is a little larger than the other, but both are nice. A nice perk which I didn't notice until packing the next day was the heat lamp.

Breakfast was french toast with coffee and juice. It was delicious. The eating area was small inside, and some guests looked uncomfortable having to share with others. However, that's part of the B&B experience, meeting new people. The tables looked out across the backyard of bird feeders. The window was wonderfully large.

The hosts of the day were very accommodating and friendly. They are what helped us have an enjoyable experience and knowing that we will be back again in the future. Next time we will try one of the cottages, but the room beneath the house gave us a taste of what we were looking for.

We are so glad we chose Castle Valley Inn. The drive to Castle Valley from Moab along the Colorado River was spectacular and set the scene for two wonderful days. We were warmly greeted by our hosts, Paul & Jayne and Abbey, the Inn dog. The setting is beautiful and we easily settled in for one of our best B&B experiences. Paul and Jayne's recommendations about what to do and where to dine were perfect. We're returning as soon as we can. Dave & Nancy

Room Tip: Our first night was in the Wingate and it was lovely.

We spent four nights here while visiting Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point and Monument Valley. We stayed in one of the Hovenweep Bungalows and the accommodations were wonderful! Each day's breakfast was a delicious feast. All the staff are so gracious and gave us tons of tips on the area, as well as making our dinner reservations at the Red Cliff Inn for us.
We loved not staying in the busy-ness and crowds of Moab. The 20 minute drive to the inn each day allowed us to unwind from the day's activities and get ready to settle in to the serenity of Castle Valley. The drive along the Colorado River was outstanding, and was always different depending on the time of day.
We hope to return soon to this lovely place!!

Room Tip: Hang out in the hot tub and star gaze. One day, drive the entire loop from Moab, beginning with t...

Castle Valley Inn is set among the most beautiful scenery one could imagine. We started each day with a wonderful breakfast served by Paul and his wife who were filling in for the owners. After a busy day .exploring the area it was wonderful to come back to that lovely and tranquil scene

We stayed at the inn while touring Arches National Park with friends, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. ANP is an amazing place, and after hiking and sightseeing all day, it was great to relax at the CVI. We sat outside the first evening with a bottle of wine and our plastic glasses, and our hosts immediately brought out wine glasses for us, and joined us briefly for a chat. Breakfast was super, especially the baked omelet. The Red Cliffs Lodge restaurant and the Castle Valley winery just down the road were also very enjoyable. I recommend the elk medallions!

We loved our 2 night stay at Castle Valley Inn- we stayed in the main house in a room with a connected bathroom. Prices in Moab were ridiculous and the weather was not going to be nice the weekend we went for camping. Jeanette and Jason welcomed us with smiles and food. Breakfast both mornings was delicious and they pointed us in the direction of two great hikes around the area. We loved being removed from Moab (about a 30 minute drive) and our first night found a dinner spot out in Castle Valley which was wonderful (Sorrel River Restaurant). We felt at home- actually even better- totally spoiled getting to hang around the beautiful property, play with their dog and cat, enjoy the hot tub and even relaxed with a picnic lunch on their deck. We look forward to returning.

Castle Valley Inn was a great experience in many ways. The location was good for Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point. It was out of the way enough to feel like we were being immersed in the nature that we came to see. The cliffs surrounding it were beautiful! It was clean, attractive, had a great breakfast, and kind, helpful hosts. we couldn't have asked for anything more!

Room Tip: We stayed in a Hovenweep bungalow. It was beautiful, pretty well equipped, and had a sink, stove, fr...
