We stayed at the Castle Valley Inn for two nights during a recent visit to Moab. Castle Valley is a very picturesque town located about 30min from Moab on a scenic route that follows the Colorado River. This location can be good for ‘getting away from it all’ but inconvenient for shopping and dining options. The inn itself consists of a main house and several newer bungalows. We got a chance to peek in some of the rooms in the main house and they seemed older and basic. The rooms in the newer bungalows were very spacious and modern. Definitely worth the extra $$ for better rooms which contained a kitchenette and outdoor grill. The grounds were immaculate with an inviting hot tub that makes for a perfect way to wind down at the end of a day. The views of the stars while relaxing in the hot tub were amazing.

On a side note, there is no television service. The rooms were equipped with a dvd player and a library of movies was available in the main house to use. The flat screen tvs, were however, tiny…laptop screen tiny. Internet connection was very spotty as well. Not a big deal, but definitely isolating which can be good or bad depending on your perspective.

Breakfast was on par with other B&Bs at this price point. There are also homemade cookies available in the main house which is another nice touch. The innkeepers were cordial and offered advice of the surrounding area for hiking/biking activities.

We stayed at the Castle Valley Inn in September 2013 and loved it. The setting is spectacular. A high point of my holiday was lying in the hammock looking up at the orange light of the mountains. The family dog lay under the hammock and it was extremely peaceful. I was very sad to leave....
We stayed in the Sommerville Bungalow. This was very comfortable, clean and certainly not a chain hotel. It is a drive to get into Moab but that is not difficult. Perhaps it would have been an issue had we wanted to eat out in the evening. We didn't try the restaurants closer to the Inn - the bungalow's kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed eating on our terrace.
I have already recommended to friends and would make a (long) trip to visit again

Hi Maddy D, Most importantly we would like to sincerely apologize for the experience you had here at the Inn. As you stated, based on our reviews you read, you can see that Jnet and I (as well as our inn sitter) try our hardest to serve everyone equally and give the highest standard of hospitality possible. Again, were sorry you didn't experience that level of service during your visit at the beginning of the off-season. Also, we're sorry you felt that the drive was too far. Many of our guests have commented to us that the drive was one of the highlights of their trip. Our sincere hope is that you would allow us another opportunity, and stay at the Castle Valley Inn next time your in the area.

We were hoping to get into Arches and Canyonlands, but our government couldn't get it's act together. Fortunately, Jason (B&B owner) has a long list of activities that are outside of the parks. We did a couple of beautiful hikes and had a great stay. The B&B is very welcoming, Jeannette and Jason were great hosts and run a beautiful property in the scenic Castle Valley. Mercedes, our breakfast host, was very engaging and gave us great suggestions for our days out. Overall, a great stay.

Great location. Spotlessly clean. Lovely new bungalow, we had the Somerville bungalow which is in fact the lower floor of a big 2 story building. Lovely furnishings, extremely comfortable bed.
Quiet picturesque location. Tasty interesting home cooked breakfasts. Plus home baked cookies!
Inn-keepers very friendly and obliging.
Hot tub so nice after a hard day's walking. It was our 20th wedding anniversary while we were there and the Inn-keepers were so thoughtful and gave us something bubbly to celebrate - how kind. Highly recommended- the drive to the Inn was stunning.
Only one small defect, we could hear everything upstairs (bathroom, steps, shower) but as we were early to bed and to rise- the same as our upstairs neighbours- it didn't matter.
Overall fabulous!

Room Tip: A little way out of town, but a stunning drive. Great kitchenette so for meals bring take-out or the...

The location is a little remote- do try to get there before dark, our rental had sat/nav and we were glad it did. The road out there is fantastic, with some of the best views you'll see- as good or better than in either Arches or Canyonlands themselves. We stayed in the Arapaho cabin / bungalow. Included kitchen and queen sized bed, with separate bedroom with bunkbeds. My wife and I stayed in the bunkbeds, and her parents had the main room with the Queen. I am 6'3" and fit into the top bunk just fine, it was not a problem. Cabin was clean, bathroom worked well, views were terrific, and yes the star gazing was phenominal. Saw milky way and even a shooting star! We saw a deer right as we were driving into the driveway. Food was terrific and the staff was very inviting and accomodating. Wish we had more time to spend, but the jeep rental and parks were calling our name. Would do this again in a heartbeat.
