“Newly renovated”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We had a great experience at this hotel. The lobby looks like it still needed a face-lift but the room we were in was newly renovated and clean. The hotel also offers a laundry room which was convenient after a few days in the desert. The location of the hotel was about 10 minutes away from downtown Moab. Definately would stay here again.

I've stayed at the Super 8 in Moab, UT at least 10 times since the mid-1990s. Yes, same hotel because of its consistent service, cleanliness and safety. We walked into our room during our recent trip, and we were shocked...in a good way. The Super 8 had been renovated and now included a desk with desk chair, refrigerator in enclosed cabinet, upgraded bathroom and, get this, a flat screen TV! We were duly impressed. Also, the towels had been upgraded. If you have stayed at Super 8s, you know they are famous for their "postage stamp" towels. Our room included not one, but four sets of towels for the two of us. We stayed two nights and continue to tell others about the excellent experience. The one drawback was that the door to our side of the building, which normally can only be entered via room key, was unlocked and didn't want to stay closed. This has been a security feature I personally value. However, knowing we had the deadbolt on our door helped us sleep easy. On the good side, regarding service, the drain in our tub was not draining properly. I reported this the following morning and asked to have it unplugged. The evening showers were a breeze with the water draining easily. We stayed at another Super 8 during our recent vacation, and the Moab Super 8 reigned over the usual experience. There are a lot of hotel opportunities in Moab; give this renovated Super 8 a try; and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Super 8 is just a short drive from downtown. It's much more convenient to get in/out of than...

The renovated rooms are really nice! Great hard gloors to tell they where cleaned. The pool and jacuzzi where perfect after hiking! The wifi was fine. The breakfast is exactly what they advertise when you check-in. Could be nicer, not worth the extra dollars to stay somewhere else. We will be back next time we come to Moab.

One of the best motel rooms I've ever stayed in. Clean, well appointed, modern design, pergo floors. The breakfast is a bit grim but this was also the least expensive hotel on hotels.com so I will gladly go out to breakfast for this romm at this price.

We were looking for a place to just crash before a rafting trip the next morning and this was by far cheaper than anywhere else in town, and only 2 miles from our meeting place in city center. It was about what you would expect from a super 8. Clean rooms. Less than 10 minutes from Arches National Park. They offered free breakfast, but it was less than stellar. Only toast and donuts were available by 8 am. And after hiking there all day, having a jacuzzi to relax in and soothe our sore muscles was key. You don't go to Moab to experience the Super 8, but you would stay in the Super 8 to experience Moab.

We arrived on the 28th of August and had two rooms booked for our family. As we entered the rooms the looked modern and nice. On a second look we detected medicine from a previous vistor still in the room. A sign that the room was not properly cleaned. The pool was nice.
A big problem was the wifi. Both of our rooms could not receive any stable signal. A call at the Super 8 IT hotline revealed that this was a known problem as one wifi repeater was defective since a while. The only advice the hotline could give that we would have to change rooms. Front desk confirmed that other rooms would be available, but this would cost us 20 USD more per room. No idea to make this change for free, no apologies. The managing director was not reachable to take a different decision. I was pointed on a general hotline which took me additional two hours to reduce the price first to 10 USD and than as was making clear that I would contact the President of Super 8 to 0 USD. We changed than to identical rooms located in a different part of the hotel where wifi was acceptable but still far from what was advertised.
The attitude of the front desk people and competence of Super 8 hotline was not acceptable.
The breakfast room is too small, the furniture sticky from the very beginning.

Room Tip: do not expect good servicce, but you could take the modern rooms.

Spacious drawers and storage in tasteful furnishings. More hotels should consider laminate floors like the Moab Super 8. Simple feels cleaner. Your on vacation so spend some money on Breakfast or utilize the mini-fridge to stock up on your breakfast items and stop complaining about the free Breakfast, albeit, advertising a free morning snack would provide clarity.

Super 8 Moab is right on the newest paved bike path north of Moab. Access it to cross the Colorado River with the Moab Pedestrian/Bike bridge and ever northward for Scenic By-way 279 or Scenic Byway 313 and Arches National Park for you Roadie Bicyclists or use the paved pathway as an expressway for mountain biking to the Brands Trail Head. Makes Super 8 a darn great location.

Room Tip: For Families: there are 3 bed, bedrooms and a room with the two queen beds separated from a 'tel...
