We stayed at this KOA . It was the worst campground we have EVER stayed at.
People were right on top of each other, walking on your site because there was no other place to walk.
A group of 6-8 people were camped next to us. They partied until well past 2AM. They were smoking pot, mixing alcoholic drinks in huge coolers. Needless to say they got louder as the evening went by.
Where was security? Never saw them. Why didn't we walk up to the office? We were too tired after hiking the Appalachian Trail and probably no one was there.
We awoke to a campsite that was gross. Food, plastic, bottles, rope?and paper all over the place.
This should not be listed as a family campground.
The people at the office were nice. The restrooms were clean.
PS it was the most expensive place we stayed for 18 days.

We just returned home from a trip to Harper's Ferry West Virginia and we stayed 3 nights at the KOA in a Cabin. I must say I was impressed. The people were awesome! They were some of the nicest people I have encountered as a traveler.
We took our three children ages 8, 3, and 1. The cabin was perfect for them, they had their own little room with bunk beds and my husband and I had a room in the cabin with a double bed. We usually tent camp but this time decided to try a cabin as it was only a little more each night. We found that it worked out perfect with our little ones, they had a nice cool place to take a nap during the day between activities and we also liked the fact we could go into the air conditioning of our cabin to escape the heat of the day. It was a little creepy being by the Civil War Trench, so all of you "Ghost Hunters" fans would like to stay here. The showers were nice at this KOA and the bathrooms were clean, the only thing is they were far away from where our site was. The pool here was huge, clean, and beautiful, definetly a nice pool for being a campground. I definetly recommend this for families. It is right next to the Harper's Ferry National Park Entrance, and that was nice as well. The views in the lower town were spectacular, and it was really interesting to see the old buildings. We recommend a trip to Antietam as well. We also drove into DC which took less than an hour, and were able to see most of the big things then we drove back to the KOA. The History here is incredible. It is an awesome trip, and good for families to make together.

We recently gave our new Pop-Up a trial run here as it is close to home. We visited over Cinco de Mayo weekend. There were lots of activities to keep the kids busy like arts and crafts, pinatas, movies, a parade, and other activities. They are adding some new features for the kids (an in ground balloon style trampolene) and have been adding cabins too. The place has really brightened up over the last couple of years. The area has lots to offer, including Harper's Ferry National Park, nearby casino, shopping and flea markets. It's always a fun and relaxing place to go for us to split off to on a weekend. We will definately go back.

Stay away from the KOA at Harpers Ferry unless you are looking for a densely populated experience camping in traffic. Loud, tacky, noisy, crowded, close, horrible.

We had a mini-family get together over July 4th at the Harper's Ferry KOA. The campground was an excellent value (less than $100 for three nights) and we took advantage of the nearby historical attractions as well. We watched fireworks at the perimeter of Antietam Battlefield July 3rd, and toured the town one afternoon.
The campground was clean and well staffed, one of the best we have ever visited. There were plenty of activities, and despite the rain during the weekend, we found plenty to do.
My one disappointment with TripAdvisor was in not having more information about local events over that weekend - but perhaps that's not something you provide. We were planning three day's activities for 12 people and ended up stumbling onto outside flea markets, and little out of the way shops and restaurants.
Thanks for the information you DID provide - we spent some time at the CharlesTown casino - one of the family won $1,000.
