“Great stories in a beautiful town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Had never been to Harpers Ferry before and was awed by the beauty of it when there. One thing that made it even more enjoyable was walking around the town for 2 hours hearing great stories combining some of the long history of the town with some of it's alleged former residents who haven't quite left. Did not see any ghosts (Of course), but was not disappointed. Highly recommended.

“I've taken the ghost tour several times with different groups and it's always great.”

Rick is an excellent story teller, he's engaging and tonight especially, I was very impressed how well he handled the two large groups of students who came on the tour. I will definitely go on his ghost tour again.

“Educational and Fun - Highly recommend this tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

Great tour - Rick was as knowledgeable about the history of Harper’s Ferry as he was entertaining. Will take this tour again and will seek out his other tours in Gettysburg.
Educational and fun – suitable for older children (I’d say eight and up). Be prepared to do some walking on uneven surfaces in semidarkness – you may want to bring a light for your walk back to your car after the tour. If you haven’t been to this town before – would suggest parking at the train station, it is not a long walk to the church. Have fun!

“One of the best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

Wow! Rick is an animated and fabulous tour guide dressed in period clothing complete with oil lantern! His retelling of local lore is superb among the backdrop of the quaint Harper's Ferry. One doesn't notice the time flying by as we spend 2+ hours meandering the streets and alleys of town while listening to ghost and history retold. This is a must do if in the area!
Just a few tips: wearing good shoes is a must as terrain is uneven and steep at times, bug repellent is advised, and eat before heading into town as the restaurants are tourist traps with poor to medicocre food. Parking at the train station is sometimes full, but people are leaving for the day, so patience and one will open quickly.
Truly, this is on the top of my favorite ghost tour lists and I try them at all my stops! Also, one of the most affordable and longest tours.
