I stayed three nights at the end of March while hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail. I had a great stay! This was exactly what I was looking for: a nice quiet and clean room, comfortable bed, good, free breakfast, and excellent location. I arrived in Harpers Ferry by train and the staff went out of their way to help me find restaurants that were within walking distance or would deliver to the hotel.

I have stayed at a lot of cheap hotels, mostly because I hate the fact that the more you pay up front for a room the more you pay for extras. At a cheap hotel things tend to be included. It was no different at this hotel. We had free parking (and plenty of it). The free continental breakfast was GREAT! In fact this was probably the best continental breakfast I've ever had. The employees were constantly in and out making sure everyone had what they needed at the buffet. They had fresh fruit, cereal, biscuits and gravy (which was delish), yogurt, pastries, a waffle maker, eggs and sausage patties to make little egg/sausage biscuits. It was just...abundant with food. The wi-fi worked great. The only downside was that a lot of people had a hard time getting phone service in the hotel. This is not the hotel's fault though. There are a lot of hills here.

Our room was small, but we weren't spending a ton of time here...so who cares. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. The room was clean (but with a sale kind of smell - opening the windows fixed that). The bathroom was also tiny, but no biggie. I wasn't bothered by it. My husband was too tall for the mirror in the bathroom. He couldn't see his face when he looked into it. That was amusing, but also not really a problem...there are mirrors elsewhere.

It was a short distance to Harpers Ferry town.

Oh...don't expect a view here. There may be better views on the other side of the hotel but we had a view of the parking lot.

Finally had a chance to explore Harpers Ferry and didn't want to stay at a place miles away. You may have discovered few options in the area...so did we. We often stay at various Choice hotel brands and have been to many Econo Lodge properties over the years. This place was pretty darn nice. Bed was very comfortable, room was quiet, breakfast was decent, and staff was fine. Think we paid about 90 for 1 night which is a TOUCH steep for this brand, but we are in a tourist-ish area and the place was on par with a nicer quality inn or holiday inn properties.

The Verdict: We would stay again and encourage others to check this place out!

This econo lodge was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences I have had! (And I travel a lot both in the US and in Europe). It was lovely, clean, quiet, safe, abundant parking, perfect location if you want to access Harpers Ferry Park. The included breakfast was impressive (a waffle iron and fresh waffles!) and the free internet was speedy and without problems. The free computer printer saved me an hour of waiting in line at the airport as well!

Thank you Econolodge for a pleasant stay.

This is an older 2 story property with and interior stairwell and no elevator. We had a king room on the second floor. There was a microwave and fridge in the room, however the fridge had something spilled in it. Most Comfort Inn king bed rooms have 5 pillows on the bed, this room had only four.
Pros:
Plenty of hot water and a good shower head
TV works
Cons:
tiny bathroom
needs a through cleaning
emergency exit lights were not lit
fridge was noisy

Despite dealing with some very pushy and rude women from a travel group, the desk clerk remained pleasant and professional and did her best to be helpful! The hotel is very convenient to historic Harper's Ferry. It's a neat older looking 2 story building. There is no elevator. The rooms were neat, clean, and comfortable. There is a park-like area outside with a picnic table. Loved the mattresses and breakfast was good and consistently restocked.

We stayed here for two nights while on a tour of West Virginia's eastern panhandle. The hotel is within easy driving distance of both historic Harper's Ferry and the casino. The rooms were small and we found we had to either stand on the toilet lid or step into the bathtub to close the bathroom door when inside. They offer the typical breakfast menu but be prepared for a long wait if the hotel is full and you want to try the waffles. We found the rooms to be clean and the staff helpful.
