We go to one or two shows at the Big Top Chautauqua every summer. We like to get there early so we can enjoy the scenery, look over the gift selections, pick out a table to eat at, and meet/chat with friends, We eat there too, just because it's part of the deal. Pulled pork sandwiches are great but best of all are the berry sundaes. Yum! In approximately 20 years, we've never been to a bad show. We've seen Don McClean, Judy Collins, The Nelsons, Riders in the Sky, Garrison Keillor, Joan Baez, the Chad Mitchell Trio, and many others up close and personal The in-house shows are also excellent and most of the entertainers stick around to meet, greet and sign autographs.

Over the years I've seen a few concerts at the tent and I've always had a blast. The crowd is usually a good size, the speakers are loud enough and the acts are always a great mix of local talent and bigger names. There's such a Mix of styles that anyone can find something they'd enjoy. The events, such as "pie and politics" or the ale competition are a hoot as well. Beer and food for sale before the show or at intermission. Don't forget a jacket in the late summer as it gets a bit windy and chilly towards the end of the season.

We saw all 3 of these artists at different time and loved everything about the Big Top! We have sat back on the bleachers and on lawn chairs outside of the tent and in the middle of the tent. I suggest a seat rather than the bleachers..pretty far back and not comfortable. There is food and drinks available and the grounds are beautiful.

Our first time here and we are so glad we went!! We saw Big Top By Request on Saturday,Sept. 1. We took the free shuttle from the AmericInn Hotel. When we arrived at the Big Top we were a little skeptical about our decision to go there-- but after the first 5 seconds of the performance- we knew we made an excellent decision. My mom is 77 years old and she also loved it. If we return to this area again- we will definately be back!

This is the fourth time I've been to Big Top and it is always, always a good time. The atmosphere is super low-key and intimate. The acts are always super. This is how concerts should be.
