The CAMBA MTB trails at Mt. Ashwabay are fantastic! I rode it from the Ski Hill Road trailhead, riding Stick Up/Down, Diesel Bear, Dirt Lip, Hot Saw, and then back. Lots of flows singletrack. There were some technical sections on Dirt Lip - rock bridges, rock gardens, and rollers in a few places. Beautiful view of Lake Superior from the top. Had the trails virtually to myself - only two other riders (and two dogs) were seen.
Went mountain biking on Mt Ashwabay today, such a beautiful ride. The trails were great and view at the top breathtaking! Single track trail rolling through dense woods and beautiful vistas. Highly recommend this if you are in Bayfield and want a nice intermediate path to try.
We cruised around the cross country trails forever, and felt like we were steadily climbing the whole time-because we were. Our long trek through beautiful woods ended with us at the top of the downhill ski hill!! Tricky on cross country skis, but so thrilling!
Trailbound Trips brought a group of 36 women to Bayfield last week, and the ladies loved Mt. Ashwabay! The trails and hills were well groomed and in great condition, the instructors provided great lessons, the food was yummy, and everyone was friendly. A special shout-out to Pete K., who was amazingly helpful and welcoming. Kudos! We'll be back. Carol/Trailbound Trips
I went hiking here this winter. There hasn't been much snow so the ski trails aren't well groomed yet. The connecting Jerry Jolly hiking trails go along the creek. There is a terrific foot path with beautiful views.
Great cross country skiing with good ski trail grooming. Watch out for the big downhill when you start, but nice rolling terrain afterward. And the best part-dogs ski free, but $5 fee for everyone else. These trails connects with the Mt Ashwabay trail network which has somewhat better trail grooming, but dogs likely not welcomed here.
