“we love it”

You have to get used to Maggie's to appreciate it. It's a small town place so you need to time it right. If it's a busy weekend, it fills up fast. Put your name on the list and go for a walk.

The food is simple but well done and their specials are great. Good soups, salads, fish and desserts. Try the whitefish livers. They use fresh ingredients when available-especially berries in the summer.

The flamingo decor is fun and lively. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

“Not up to Expectations”
Reviewed October 20, 2008

We stopped in at Maggies for a bite of lunch. I was disappointed with the menu options. Food was okay but nothing to get excited about.

“Needs a new manager ASAP!!!”
Reviewed October 2, 2008

The bartender and server were the rudest! No greeting when we walked in and it was not very busy. So, we seated ourselves. The bartender looked at us and looked the other way. The server ran over and told us we couldn't sit where we chose and had to move. We got up and proceded to another table and she said we couldn't sit there either as there were only two of us. We asked for the manager and were told he wasn't there. (Saturday afternoon???) We decided not to even have coffee at this place. The bartender kept staring at us and didn't crack a smile, the waitress seemed relieved that we chose not to stay. Awful!
SOMEONE NEEDS TO GET A NEW MANAGER IN THIS PLACE! We heard it was one of three restaurants in Bayfield owned by a classy owner who has an extensive background and reputation for food. As we are foodies we really wanted to experience this place. HORRIBLE, spend your time and money somewhere else, don't let this place ruin your vacation, Bayfield is beautiful and has other eateries that are amazing.

“Stay away from here!!!!”
Reviewed September 20, 2008

Maggie's has to be the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in!!!!

We went to book a table and were told we did not need to as it was off season and we wouldn't have a problem just turning up. When we arrived that evening to eat, it was fully booked and we waited 30 mins before being seated. Unfortunately it was NOT worth the wait. Our server was on another planet - she took so long to give us a menu and then so long to take our order and then so long to bring our food to the table that when we got it it was cold! The food is less then average - probably a bit better than school dinners. I had a simple burger and fries. The fries were cold and the burger was so dry and not even luke warm. My husband had Thai noodles which looked like slop on a plate with some brocolli and carrot mixed in! The only Thai thing about it was a very slight taste of coconut.

There must be better restaurants in Bayfield to dine in and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ONE - I would not even give their food to animals!!!!!

“Maggie's”
Reviewed August 30, 2008

I wouldnt say that we had an excellent experience at Maggie's, it's hard to say where it went wrong. First, I will say that the wait staff of bartenders were very nice and eager to keep the beverages flowing while we waited. But next, we waited for 1hr for a table for two at the bar and had a couple drinks. One of the bartenders had mentioned to another person waiting that they were actually pretty slow that night. After we were seated the waitress was more interested in the table for 10 she had, then serving us, so we waited again for several minutes to be acknowledged with a glass of water. We had ordered fajitas and a pork wrap with beans and rice. There wasnt a lot of flavor to either entree and the food was cold by the time we got it. Another waitress took about 4 tables their food while we waited. Since we could tell that things were pretty slow, we told the waitress to bring out the dessert while we were still on the entree - however, she didnt even put the order in until we had our plates taken. A little disappointing !! .... and what's with all the crap hanging on the walls of most of the resturants in town?
