Beautiful Inn, close to Antietam Battlefield. The owner Joanne met us walking into the inn, we arrived a little earlier for check in, she got us all settled into our room, The Thomas Jackson room. We were traveling with our teenage son and Joanne set up an airbed for him to sleep on. The room was beautifully furnished and comfortable, clean and we had our own little back porch area to sit outside. Joanne was very helpful and informative on what was going on in the area, where to eat and how to get there. Unfortunately we didn't stay for the breakfast, wanted to get back on the road to continue our vacation. I do recommend this Inn, it's lovely, I'd like to visit again as a couple or friends. I think it would be a great little getaway.

Great location for seeing the play festival at Shepherdstown, visiting the Antietam battlefield or doing river activities. Wonderful hosts, resh flowers and comfortable beds in the rooms, private balconies overlooking the pretty gardens, great breakfast, and, best of all, wonderful home-roasted coffee! Would recommend for romantic get-aways or get-togethers with friends.

Everything about our 1 day stay here was enjoyable and memorable. Joanne met us at the door and showed us our room. It was beautifully furnished in the 1800's style, and the bed was perhaps the most comfortable I have ever slept on (Antietam Room). She gave us tips about the restaurants in the area, answered all of our questions happily, served us a delicious breakfast with just picked peaches from the area, and told us the story of the Inn and the town while we ate with other guests. I would love to go back some day. Truly memorable.

Spent an anniversary weekend at this lovely B&B to do some area biking. Ideal accommodations; great room, lovely grounds, quality breakfast. Met interesting guests and the surrounding area is tops for riding. There may be more to do in Sheperdstown, but this is where you go to get away

We stayed at this lovely inn three nights and enjoyed every minute. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Ann was the temporary innkeeper and was very gracious, and also served delicious breakfasts each day. We biked the C&O Canal Trail one day and biked through the battlefield the next day. Also spent time relaxing on the porch, reading and petting the resident outdoor cat Dusty (very sweet and quiet). We will definitely come back!

This inn is SUPER! The hosts bend over backwards to make sure you feel welcome. JoAnn met us at the door and showed us around. Our room was nice and the bed inviting. She advised me to watch a DVD about the Battle of Antietam and it was very helpful.

Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed visiting with everyone-that's part of the BNB experience!
She gave us a history of the inn and even let us borrow a driving CD which made everything come alive. For a civil war buff, I was thrilled and look forward to returning.

We stayed in the Harper's Ferry Suite which was perfect as we had our 16-year old grandson with us. The TV was in a small sitting room separate from the bedroom, so the grandson could watch TV while we read and/or slept. Conversation at breakfast was lively and Joanne gave us some very interesting history about the house. The only thing I wish we knew while there was that they had an audio CD that we could have used to tour Antietam. If I'm not mistaken, their website said that such CDs were available for purchase. Now reading that another guest was given one as a loaner, it would have been nice to know that one was available for our use. We enjoyed meeting Dusty, the kitty, also. The inn is in a good location in the middle of town.
