My husband and I really enjoy La Perla, in fact it is the only Mexican restaurant he will eat at. The food is fresh, hot, and tasty. The decor leaves a little to be desired and there often no one at the counter when you are ready to leave, but they have this one dish called the La Perla that is incredible. It is cactus leaves, two chicken breasts, two thin pounded pieces of steak, and a portion of shrimp served in a hot stone urn with roasted onions, a jalapeno and white cheese. It is so gorgeous when it arrives. It is served with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and rice and beans which I never have room to eat. It is easily enough for two people to eat until they are stuffed. Oh and I almost forgot the best part... it's only 13 dollars and that is one of the most expensive things on the menu. Most of their Mexican staples like tacos and chimichangas come with chicken by default or you can choose beef or other meats if you prefer. So far everything I have tried has been delicious and plentiful and the fried ice cream desert is heaven.
