“Wonderful, but still need to be improved”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Overall it is a great hotel, and is worth for the price.

However, I think the hotel need to be well maintained.

At the 3rd night during my stay, the fire alarm beeped in the midnight, and after I called the front desk, the staff came and removed the device. It was fake, because of the device malfunction.

If it is occasional, the next day in the mid night, the fire alarm fired for entire hotel, almost every guest moved out of the building. Cannot imagine that it was fake too. No reason, no explanation, even no staff during the evacuation.

I accept occasional device issue, but it happened TWICE in my room.

This is a place that I would recommend staying at if you are staying in Saipan. The location is great. Although there is a shuttle bus into the town you can easily walk, it will take about 6 minutes. The hotel is well designed. There is a great beach area which possesses great depth, and with a small cordoned off area for swimming. In addition there are 3 swimming pools. One specially with young children in mind. For those who choose there is a games area for pool, giant chess and connect four. Although there are an abundance of shops which deal with day trips etc, they do seem to cater primarily for the Japanese, Chinese and Korean guests. It was easier to book trips in the ‘I Love Saipan’ centre down town. The room was fine, with a comfortable bed and great view. The people on the reception were pleasant and helpful. I did check out the Hyatt next door and in my opinion the Fiesta made a better use of their outdoor space. I got a hotel shuttle to the airport for $15. If I had known I would have arranged to have been picked up from the airport. It was the first time I had arrived at an airport and saw no taxis.

Room Tip: Any room is fine. I had a mountain view which was great. There were also lots of ocean views, which...

I have been here twice now and after exploring other hotels, Fiesta has the best beach front and facilities going in Garapan. It is centrally located to the main city and is surrounded by decent restaurants and basic tourist shops. The service is great, but the hotel restaurant is a bit pricey - for breakfast at least. Super good location to relax. The locals (Chamorro) on the beach are friendly and trustworthy if you want to go fishing or even have a beach BBQ. I will be back.

Room Tip: Best rooms are ocean view in the south wing

I imagine this must be a bit like Hawaii before the great paving and building of paradise lost began. The staff here, from the bellmen to the top have been just super attentive and friendly. A real shout-out to Jenny, the Executive Lounge hostess, who was such a pleasant person...very helpful. I had a great trip here, and would recommend staying here to anyone. The bed was not great, the one complaint I had, otherwise the hotel is pretty darn solid. The pools, views, and beach are very nice.

I spent 4 nights at the Fiesta Resort and it is still a great place to be and one of the nicer hotels in Saipan. Room and bed are very comfortable and it is located about a 10 minute walk to the Galleria shops with Tiffany, Hard Rock Cafe Saipan, etc. The night market on Thursdays is right next to the hotel. There are many places to eat around the area and the best is Cafe in the Park, a 5 minute walk away. Hotel is built on a beach - very nice swimming area or there is also a pool.

Rooms are clean and have some very nice amenities. Bring your own ethernet cable for a better internet connection or you can use the wifi which was ok. Saw more people using it in the lobby so the connection might have been better there.

I spent a few nights at Fiesta Resort & Spa. Initially I phoned to make a reservation, the bookings woman told me to book online. I tried to do this, and repeatedly got an authentication error. I then called back, and managed to book by phone.

When checking in, I found she'd spelled my name a bit wrong, but that wasn't important. However, the room allocated was a twin room, when I had booked a double. Also the view from the 4th floor isn't great, the ocean view is obscured by trees. I went back and asked to change room, I was moved to the 6th floor (view is better from higher up).

The room was clean and looked ok, I was happy to spend a few nights there. I quite liked the bathroom design. The lobby looks tired, it needs a bit of paint.

I booked the 3 night island tour package, I now wonder if it was worth it. This involves an island tour (with a boatload of Japanese tourists - the tour guides just spoke Japanese, didn't bother to say a word in any other language despite there being Koreans, Chinese and English speakers present).

The package also includes a Saipan culture night, which I advise people to avoid like the plague. The buffet wasn't very good, and you are expected to pay overpriced rates for drinks. I took a dim view of that, expecting that some drinks would be included ($3.50 for a can of coke, $5 for a small glass of Miller draft, etc). The show wasn't great, though the performers gave it their best. Island dance and what not, and a Japanese song, a Korean song, a Chinese song. I didn't want to spend the best part of the evening watching the culture show, so after having a bit of buffet dinner I left the show early with my wife to take a stroll along the beach. After I got back to the room, I was surprised to receive a phone call from a pissed off sounding woman from the dinner, she said " Mr XXXXXXXXX, you didn't pay your bill at the dinner". We'd had a couple of drinks, which were to be charged to the room, and the buffet cost was part of the package. She told me that the drinks could be charged to the room, I told her that's what I expected, and the call ended. I'm not sure what she was trying to achieve, but it just put me in a bit of a bad mood.

One night I tried the seafood and steak buffet, I don't recommend it. The steak chef was amusingly miserable, I chatted to him a bit asking how his day was going, he shrugged and told me it's the typical 5 - 9 hotel job. The steak wasn't good.

The breakfast buffet also wasn't that great, and worse still the staff wander around at about 9:40am saying "last call for food". The breakfast session ends at 10pm, and it seems that they expect guests to get out of their precious restaurant at 10 on the dot. I've been to other hotels of similar price on Guam, and was never rushed or hassled over small details like this.

The lobby staff were ok, on the whole. The cleaning staff were polite and efficient.

One swimming pool was under repair, the other pool is ok. The pool staff were friendly.

The two pool tables are rather old, and they need to buy some chalk for those cues. The pool tables are missing some balls. One of the two ping pong tables is a bit broken. This sort of thing is a reflection of the hotel overall, it could be good, but small, sometimes silly details let it down.

I get the feeling that the economy in Saipan is so bad that some hotel staff just don't care. If I had this trip again, I'd go to Guam.

One final thing, beyond the control of the hotel, but important nonetheless, the street in front of the hotel (the mountain view, I think they call it) is crawling with prostitutes late evening. I wouldn't want to take children to this sort of place.

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view, ask for higher floors. From the fourth floor the view is obscured by tree...

My family and I booked a trip here and what an amazing place it is! The best part is the kid friendliness at this hotel! At the Fiesta, there are 2 pool tables, 2 ping pong tables, and a gigantic chess mat on floor with pieces. The pool is great with volleyball and a basketball hoop. The kids club is very entertaining for the kiddies! Tennis and Beach Volleyball is also here. The rooms are decent not very air conditioned. But the AC was fixed luckily so the room was much nicer. There is also a luau at the fiesta but is a bit pricy. $52 per adult and $27 for children, pretty decent, but still expensive if with a family. Staff is very nice and helpful throughout the hotel. Overall, the fiesta is very great and mostly more kid friendly than the Hyatt Regency next door.

Room Tip: Ocean view room and big beds for families.
