“Great place for a short vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

I spent 5 nights with my family. The location is Amazing, beautiful beach and crystal water just in front of it. Tropical gardens gives a relaxing feeling.
Staff is really kind and always smiling. Maybe not quick....., but we do not expect high efficiency in these islands.
Nice pool, and great SPA.
Negative note: food! We tryed only Giovanni's, that is a "real fake" italian restaurant. What a pity....... Also food at the Club is not acceptable for this kind of hotels, both for breakfast and for happy hour. Especially at breakfast, in peak time, always waiting for missing staffs and food....
My suggestion: avoid peak season, enjoy beaches an sea, stay not more than 4/5 days, keep on diet!
I'll probably be back soon.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt for a week in Nov. 2013. We found everything to our liking. Pleasant staff, great beach, good location and everything was always clean and fresh. I can't think of any negatives during our stay.

The Hyatt certainly commands a great position, right on the beach with magnificent manicured gardens, a lovely swimming pool, good gymnasium and spa area.
The rooms need upgrading as the place is a little tired.
The bed was hard, bathroom certainly had plenty of hot water. Our room could have had tea and coffee making facility and it could have also done with an iron and ironing board. The staff were friendly and obliging.
The breakfast was ok but across the street the Java cafe had a great selection at a reasonable price.
The Hyatt is well located near the main shopping street with plenty of good eating places.
The time spent here was enjoyable and if we came back to Saipan we would stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the South wing on the fourth floor. It was quiet with a great view of the ocean and gr...

Really nice hotel. Quiet everywhere. Mature atmosphere. Regency wing has great breakfast and happy hour. Grounds are big but Pool is small. the location is all about the beach clear blue postcard water. Kids club wore out the boys by 3pm. Small regency club pool closed at 5pm which was disappointing.

Room Tip: Regency Club for great happy hour snacks and full breakfast buffet

Dear pedroskio,

‘Hafa adai’ from the beautiful island of Saipan!

You’ll be glad to hear that we are planning on improving our children’s swimming pool in the near future. With that in mind, we look forward to exceeding your expectations of our hotel, should you decide to visit our pristine islands again.

Pedroskio, when you visit the bars for our happy hour, take advantage of our striking sunset with a glass of Golden Margarita on the side.

Sincerely,

I have traveled to Saipan six times for work and this is the first time I stayed at the Hyatt. First of all, I was not paying for the hotel stay and was given a food stipend so I cannot speak the hotel rate. I liked the location a lot. I liked the view from my hotel room. I liked that I could walk around Garapan and wander about in and out of the stores just to have something to do when I was not working. I could also have a choice of places to eat other than the hotel -- although, the hotel has great food and several choices of places to eat. My room had a small 'fridge. The hotel included 2 small bottles of water each day. The American Memorial Park is within walking distance of the Hyatt and has a walking, biking trail nearby. The hotel has a small gym and was fine for me - had an elliptical, treadmill and some weight machines, free weights and exercise balls. The pool is lovely as is the beach. They have beach activities and a boat to Managaha Island. However, the hotel does not have the feel of a Resort Camp with kids running all over the place. There were families with small children from Asia and Russia as well as English speaking guests. The bar is small. The hotel personnel are helpful and friendly.
They told me the WiFi was new, and it does go in and out, but Saipan has had its struggles with the Internet. The room has a cable which works fine when the wifi is down. Overall, it worked fine for me, and I needed it for work. The bed was super comfy as well. When I go back, if I have a choice, I will opt to stay there again. Make sure you try your key in the elevator BEFORE getting on with someone else. It can be a LONG walk back down to the desk if your key doesn't work. If it works in the elevator, it will most likely work in your door.

Room Tip: I had a ocean view, but it was a long walk from the elevator. I thought it was worth it.

So even though Saipan is a US territory there are lots of Japanese and Russian tourists that give the experience a very foreign feel. The food is not exactly as you would expect, but if you like sushi and Japanese fare its a great place. The rooms are also not exactly as you'd expect at a US Hyatt. There is internet but only via LAN cable, so if your devices are wireless you have to go to the lobby to use them. The coffee service is via room service only and only after 7am. Not that you get up early on vacation, but for business it is a problem-having said that, this is the only hotel appropriate for business. The Fiesta next door has NO internet.
Rooms are large enough, the bathrooms also OK, in the rooms with a view the bathrooms are large and well appointed. The pool is great with a bar close by. The beach is spectacular also with a beach bar nearby that can also get you food, so no need to interupt any leisure time.
All things considered a nice hotel, just not "Hyatt-nice" by mainland standards.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the building that houses the Club Elan health fitness facility, those are the newe...

The Hyatt definitely has the nicest grounds and restaurants of any of the hotels on Saipan. It sits right on the beach with the Saipan lagoon as part of it's view. It is also located in Garapan so it's very convenient for shopping and dining, or night life. The food at the restaurants is simply the best on Saipan, no contest, but it is also some of the most expensive food on Saipan. For the price of the rooms, I would expect a little more luxury in the rooms, but they are fairly plain, and the beds are not very comfortable at all. But if you want atmosphere, awesome food and convenience and don't mind paying for it, the Hyatt is for you.
