This is a timeshare property converted from a 100+ year old, 9 story hotel near Union Square. The units are small without regular kitchens. Instead, you have an under-counter refrigerator, a coffee maker, a toaster and a microwave, which is plenty in the city with all the fantastic restaurants around. The staff is uniformly thoughtful and friendly and know their way around. They can easily direct you to the best "whatever" and it's often within walking distance from the property. Since you pretty much have to be a WorldMark Owner to stay there, it ruly fits the cost-conscious, fun-loving mindset of folks in that club. It may not be the grandest property in town but the savings will go a long way to funding more terrific restaurant outings. Lucky you!

Room Tip: You would be happiest if you were able to book a one bedroom hotel unit.

Was a small appartment for three adults but comfortable enough. Was a short walk to China Town. A small grocery shop across the road. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a guest laundry and that was very helpful as we had been traveling for a few weeks and did not know when would would get the chance to wash again.

WorldMark San Francisco has a great location. It's about 7 blocks from Bart and 3 blocks from Union Square and 3 blocks from Chinatown. Rooms are comfortable. Staff is very nice and helpful. Whether it's your first time or not...this a great place to stay!

Room Tip: better to leave car at home...take Bart

The lobby was warm and inviting and we were immediate greeted by the friendly staff.
The rooms are very small. However, a well equip mini kitchen unit and table and chairs are provided.
The heating and air units are old and noisy, yet, ear plugs are available.
The bathroom was small and did not have a fan or window.
The condition of the carpets are completely unacceptable. The color is dark green and after walking on them with new clean white socks for less than one hour, the bottom of my socks were filthy dirty.
Apparently, cleanliness is not part of the hotel's housekeeping standards.

Ok. Maybe I don't have a basis of comparison with older hotels. So some of the things I didn't like about this place may not bother others...or it may not bother you once you know what to expect.

Pros:
*Good location - a block from Chinatown. 3 blocks from Union Square. A block from the cable car.
*Helpful staff

Cons:
*Room size - a studio is the size of an interior room on a cruise ship
* Noise - interior noise and exterior, you can hear it all
* Elevator - there is only one and it's slow as all get out.
* Beds - small and uncomfortable.
* Hard to find - the signage could be bigger. We passed it twice and had to call to figure out where it was.
* Lights - in the room is on a timer. It's annoying.
* Shower - if there is excess steam, an alarm goes off and they tell you to open a window. Be prepared. (if you can figure out how to turn the shower on, tip, pull down on the spout).

Don't expect much from this little hotel, but it does provide everything it says it does. It's a comfortable room with a great location within walking distance to Chinatown and Union Square.

There staff is extremely nice and makes you feel comfortable during the stay. There are a few events in the lobby, like wine tastings in the afternoon on certain days. There is also a small gym right by the lobby, and a customer-use computer with a fireplace nearby that is very cozy.

The rooms are a good size - we stayed in a one bedroom with two full restrooms and a fold-out couch. There is a small kitchenette in the living room where coffee can be made and small meals. The room has glasses and compostable bowls and plates.

A friend invited me to share a few days at her timeshare in San Francisco. We arrived via BART near Union Square, and after a brisk little walk up Powell, we were delighted to find this friendly, comfy corner near the heart of the city! Our one bedroom suite was cheery and had all we needed. Just a block to Chinatown, we enjoyed some fun shopping. An easy trolley ride to Pier 33 allowed us to board a boat headed to Alcatraz Island. Now a state park, Alcatraz Island is an adventure, with free access to an audio tour of the decommissioned prison and its grounds. One evening we took a taxi to Delancey Street Restaurant (google that one if not familiar!), and we also enjoyed a great Mexican restaurant just 1 1/2 blocks walks away, El Sotano. Cable Cars, Trolleys, Union Square, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, great shopping... and no need for a car.

Room Tip: We were on 6th floor, over the street, and traffic noise was not a problem.
