“Excellent fish, disappointingly vegan dessert options.”
Reviewed May 22, 2012 via mobile

Went here for date night - reasonable white sangria, absolutely fabulous fish (a bit on the salty side, but that's my preference), very good service and nice informal atmosphere. However they offer only vegan desserts - I actually applaud that they provide vegan options but would be nice to have others as well as vegan "cheesecake" is not to everyone's taste. A relatively small misstep and next time we will go for dinner and make other dessert plans.

“Good fish, good service, good price”
Reviewed October 13, 2011

If you've read about the Mission District in San Francisco, you might want to check it out by having a meal at Weird Fish. Walking from the BART station to the reataurant offers a visitor a slice-of-life view of a vibrant neighborhood. The small restaurant teases customers with a mystery meal that may be described as "a reddish, pinkish fish," but also offers straight menu items such as fish and chips made with grouper instead of cod, salmon, and a variety of vegetarian dishes. One in our party chose the mystery meal and one chose salmon -- they were the same except for the accompaniments, and very tasty. The other person chose fish and chips which were excellent. We didn't have dessert. The music can be a bit too loud and the space is small, but it met our needs for a good meal with fresh ingredients. They have a farm that supplies many of the items on the menu.

“Excellent Seafood.”

Small, informal, and friendly with wonderful food on a small menu. We also had excellent red wine on a small wine list. On a very colorful street in The Mission.

The food was excellent, the service was great! This restaurant is great for both Vegans and Omnivores. They have soy substitutes for everything, including Cheese Cake! (Which was delicious by the way). It is small, and there are no reservations taken so one would need to get their early, but it's well worth the wait
