Gorgeous location, fantastic breakfast and great service. Couldn't fault it. Situated right next door to a fab hat shop so take a look in there too!

We stopped at Cafe Divine while on our Segway tour. We stopped on Washington Square and wanted to buy water and something to eat. Unfortunately Tony's Pizza was closed so we went into the Divine Cafe. The place seems to have good food as there were quite a few patrons. We were a group of 6 and stood around the counter. The display of bakery goods looked very yummy. Unfortunately since the place is so small we were in the way of the servers who seemed annoyed at our presence. Two other people who were in our tour left the place for the rudeness of the employees. The pastries were delicious - apple turnover, sconce and croissant.

Had reservations elsewhere but were not going to make it in time. We were in the North Beach area and decided to try a well rated pizza restaurant almost next door. Wait was over an hour. Opted for Divine, but had doubts. I would give this a four star but for the price in SF this really was pretty divine. The warm olives and bread were so simple, but satisfying, and the Caesar was very good. We ordered the pizza and really liked it. The service staff was a bit stretched, and the table a bit small, but all in all a nice place. I really liked the simple décor and the pies and desserts as well. May not really be worthy of a five, but still remembering those olives and how glad we were to get a table on a chilly Sat. in San Fran.

Were wandering North Beach looking for breakfast on a Monday. Ran across this restaurant and scored. The Bennies from Heaven are not for the faint of heart, but if you come hungry and like a bold combination of flavors then this is the dish for you. Great place to watch the hum of the neighborhood and the Tai Chi groups in the park.

We actually went to another nearby restaurant, but the line was too long. So glad. The waitstaff was superb. We all happened to choose the breakfast sandwich. It was made with homemade focaccia! It came with a nice fresh fruit cup, too. The coffee was great, too. Next time we are in San Francisco, we will go back.
