This is a delightfully cute little motel on Lombard St. The first time I came to stay here I was on a strict budget, and we enjoyed the cosy ambience in the courtyard. This time we stayed again in the courtyard (don't get a street facing room, request courtyard rooms on the motel's website). Our rooms lacked air conditioning (which is fine, they weren't advertised as having air con), and the antiquated central heating pipes creaked and banged extremely loudly around 11pm - midnight each night, and this got pretty frustrating after a tiring day out. The location is pretty nice, one street away is Chestnut St, a beautiful area with lots of lovely restaurants. There are buses close to the hotel to take you to Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf.
I probably wouldn't stay here again now that I'm not on a strict budget, but for the price you pay in San Francisco, this is a great spot for those on a leaner budget.More
