Had dinner on a Thursday , the restaurant was full and a bit noisy.
The food was unique and tasted good.
The service was about average.
A good place to dine in.

This was a very strange dining experience. In the course of the evening 3 different servers dealt with us--each as if they were responsible for the table. But then it seemed that none of them really were responsible for the table. An order for a second pot of tea was never fulfilled. An order of a side vegetable was not relayed to the kitchen until after the entrees had arrived. A request not to have potatoes was not fulfilled.

All that is kind of a big deal when you're dining in a place that seems to have aspirations. But aside from that, the food was tasty and we enjoyed it. But it's hard to abstract from the sense that the place is not well-managed.

Excellent food - even better service. If you like the farm to table/locavore movement, eat here. Fish and veggies were all incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared.

A great idea, with farm-sourced food prepared in inviting ways. Although nothing was bad, nothing was memorable, either. Fish & Farm isn't really more expensive than other similar restaurants around Union Square in SF, but in the end it was a pricey but uninspired meal.
