I booked this hotel thru American Airlines on a package that included airfare + there was a mileage bonus going on for booking a vacation thru them. Chose the St. Francis because the fourth nite was "free" and the location was great.
My traditional room was large with a king-sized bed. It was on the 3rd floor in the old building. Sometimes there was a wait for an elevator, but that was really the only downside. It was warm the weekend I stayed, so keeping the AC on probably eliminated the noise that other reviewers have commented on. The hotel was full due to the Nike Women's Marathon taking place with the kickoff at Union Square right across the street. One of the touches I really liked was that when I called for xtra glasses or a wake-up call, the operator always greeted me by name. Lefty O'Doul's on Geary St. is a good place for breakfast. Burger Bar on the 6th floor of Macy's was not good for wings. Plouf and Fog City Diner were excellent.
Went to two concerts put on by SFJazz that were fabulous. Manhattan Transfer & Miklet Hadero. One of my dear girlriends took a position with them and she was the reason for my visit.More
