We spent 2 nights here while visiting California. Great location right near shopping, cable cars and bus excursions. We were able to walk most places to include restaurants. Staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was great. We really enjoyed the pastries. Wine and cheese in the evening was a nice touch. It was fun to meet people from around the world and enjoy good wine too. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We were in room 505. Had plenty of room and no noise from breakfast or wine/cheese area. No view but...

This summer we planned a trip to San Francisco to see our Red Sox play the Giants at AT&T Park. I had booked our room in May for an August visit. From the time I booked the room and ended up chatting with Omar for 30 minutes I was impressed. The day we arrived, Ann greeted us as if we were long time customers. My husband was concerned with the small size of the lobby, and kept saying I hope you know what you have done…… I did!
The room was at the end of the 2nd floor with only 4 rooms per floor the architecture is unique and charming. the accommodations are impeccable and were were treated like royalty the whole 3 days. This was not just a place to sleep; it was a touching charming experience and I look forward to returning to this wonderful hotel and San Francisco!

This Hotel was perfect! The rooms were very clean and modern even though it has a very Victorian feel. Staff was terrific and went out of their way to assist. And the location at Post and Powell couldn't have better. Hope we can visit again.

Room Tip: I would select second or third floor. Be advised the only view was a brick wall. Didn't bother u...

We spent two nights here this past weekend in the King Suite with the fireplace. When I say "suite" I am talking about 200 square feet, but I still really enjoyed our room. We were in the very back of the hotel and I never once heard any other guests while in my room. Our room was clean and well cared for. Although we were right near Union Square, with tons of people, shops, restaurants, traffic, and noise, this hotel was always very quiet. We left all the hustle and bustle of the city behind when we stepped into this quaint little inn. Yes, this hotel is small and there are no extra amenities like a restaurant or bar, but everything is literally right outside your door. The complimentary wine and cheese at night, and coffee and breakfast in the morning, were especially nice. We sat and met so many other friendly guests that it felt like we were staying in a little B&B. The most special part of this hotel is the staff, who are truly outstanding. They were available to help us with whatever we needed. If you like charming, small, friendly boutique hotels, you will love this place. I would definitely stay here again.

We started our journey from San Francisco to San Diego with a 4 night stay at this wonderful inn and it was never bettered along the journey. Whilst the rooms are a little small (and this was well explained) we were very comfortable. We had a room next to the lift but had a very quiet stay (not sure what other reviewers were disturbed by). The hospitality offered by Wayne and his team was exceptional. We shared lovely pastries, coffee and conversation at breakfast. It was a cosy group quite often as most guests chose to stay and share breakfast together. We received some great recommendations from other guests which really maximised our holiday experience both in San Francisco and further along the journey. The evening wine and cheese sessions became little parties as everyone stayed to chat. We hadn't really been aware of this Californian tradition and although we then enjoyed the same in Carmel, Cambria and Santa Barbara it was never done so well as at this lovely inn. Every member of staff wanted to ensure the guest's comfort and satisfaction. We will definitely keep to small boutique hotels in the future - we ended our journey at the Hilton, Torrey Pines in San Diego and they would do well to learn a few lessons in customer service from the staff at this inn. A big thank you to Wayne and the lovely Ann and everyone else who looked after us so well.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 5th floor - it was great but I don't think there would be any issues on any of...

We spent 3 night in a queen suite; space was nice, bathroom was small but adequate. Location, location, location + boutique look, feel, and services are what attracted us to this property. We were not disappointed! Especially loved the expanded continential breakfast and evening wine and cheese reception offered; so fun to chat with the other guests. Additionally, bottled water and evening cookies are also included in the price of the room. Very helpful staff are employed and are eager to assist, including Ann, Omar and Ken.
