Lovely, grand hotel in Nob Hill area of San Francisco. Could hear people talking in adjoining rooms and hallway but it didn't keep us awake. Very nice stay but nothing above and beyond hotels in similar price range. Pricy breakfast - we ate somewhere else.

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. As you mentioned we are the Grand Dame of Nob Hill and an iconic San Francisco property since 1907. I apologize for the noisiness of your room, but it sounds like it didn't too negatively affect your stay. Thanks again for sharing and we hope to welcome you again in the future.
Sincerely,
Lucas Schumacher

Great location, great service, clean. We had a room on the 20 th floor which had a view that was spectacular. Staff were A+ and got in late day one so headed down to Tonga room, tacky but worked out great for dinner and a great show by a band floating on a raft who were pretty good. Hotel is upper end no doubt, but if you are a guy who needs " points" with the better half, this is the place.

Room Tip: At top of Nob Hill so expect a work out if walking on those hills!

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. I'm thrilled to hear you had such a nice visit and found the staff so accommodating. We pride ourselves on great service and it sounds like we delivered on that promise to you. Tonga Room is an experience not to be missed, so it's nice to hear you enjoyed. Thanks again and we look forward to your return and helping you earn some more "points" with the better half.

Stayed for 4 nights, but wouldn't have minded extending the stay!

Nice spacious newly decorated rooms with upgraded bathroom. Quiet, clean and in every way the one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. Excellent staff. Valet parking is fairly expensive ($65/day) but provides very good service (would recommend).

Breakfast is good, not cheap ($40 pp incl) but nice ambiance. Service is OK, though not as good as for instance the Bellagio in LAS. Might consider nice place downtown.

All in all one of the best hotels in SFO where I will gladly return.

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. I'm very pleased to hear you enjoyed your lengthy visit and would've like to extend! We are very proud of our recently renovated rooms and feel their more modern decor perfectly matches the historic luxury we are famous for. Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

This was a very nice, clean hotel with great staff: very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was excellent! Location was perfect for sightseeing. Our only problem was with the Hertz rental car company which is located in lobby. Our car rental was booked months in advance and we were to have our car at 10 am on day of departure, the car was not there and we didn't get a car til 1 pm and it wasn't the car we pre-ordered.

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed it although I'm sorry to hear of your issues with the rental car. It sounds like that wasn't too big of an issue for you and you still made the best of your time in San Francisco. Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Lucas Schumacher

Our three-day weekend at the Fairmont was lovely. All staff members we encountered were friendly and very helpful. At a hotel of this caliber, though, I expect a bellman to take my luggage from my taxi to the front desk, but there were none to be found at 2pm, so we lugged our own luggage inside - a minor pet peeve, to be sure, but still a peeve.

The lobby was grand and made us feel like celebrities of days gone by, and our recently renovated room in the tower was nicely appointed, peaceful and cozy. The city view was very nice, especially at night.

On our last night, we had dinner in the Tonga Room. The decor was kitschy at it's best, and the food and tropical drinks were delicious. The band started playing at about 8, as it was a Sunday night, and they were very enjoyable. Quite a few couples and teens got up to dance. Most people we could see were quite obviously enjoying themselves, as were we.

This was our first time in San Francisco, but we had such a great time that we'll be back, next time with our teen daughter, who enjoyed our stories of what a nice time we had. She will love the Tonga Room in particular, so we'll be back for dinner, even if we decide to try a different hotel.

We would definitely recommend the Fairmont.

Room Tip: City and bay view rooms in the tower offer lovely views at a premium.

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay with us. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your tie with us on your first visit to San Francisco. As you mentioned our lobby is quite grand and we feel the most beautiful in the City. Tonga Room is a one of a kind San Francisco institution and it's great to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks again and we hope to welcome you and your family again on your next visit to the City by the Bay.
Sincerely,
Lucas Schumacher
