“Great locations and comfortable rooms”

Travellign with a little kid, we put in a request for King size bed but were given 2 queen size which too was not bad. Hotel is at a great location with almost all places of convineance at walking distance. Also features nice pool.

Front desk and Concierge were very helpful.

We got caught in Sandy and could not make it on the day of booking but we preinformed and the hotel readily changed our reservation.

All in all a good experience.

I had read a number of good reviews on this hotel. The hotel was in a good location, close to many places in Fisherman's Wharf and shops and waterfront piers were within walking distance. We checked in at the front desk and our reservation, it was exceptionally busy. They offer free wifi in the lobby only - so there was a number of people in the lobby with laptops, crowding spots to sit.

We had a room on the 1st floor. The bed was comfortable - and our room was across from the lobby so no crowd noise. I did not notice any from the street.

It was a nice stay overall - but upon check out I got a big surprise. I had a big bill of incidentals - all TAXES. So this is what you have to watch out for taxes upon taxes. I booked on Hotwire and all the taxes should have been included - but were not.

Parking Tax - $6.30
Parking $45.00 and 14.1% Tax - $45.00
CA Tourism Tax 0.1% - $0.02
TID Assessment - $0.30
Room Tax - $2.80

So I am sure all rooms pay all these additional charges. I should have looked for a hotel that included parking - and will try to figure out with hotwire why all the other taxes were not included in the taxes I paid in my booking.

Excellent location for walking, catching transit, and renting bikes. Good lobby and service. Hotel rooms were only average and some components could be upgraded (ex. hallways, windows). San Francisco is very expensive to stay in so the price of this hotel is great if you are travelling with a family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the elevators as it is quite a walk with luggage to some parts of the property.

Stayed at this hotel last week, if was in a great position for the Fisherman's Wharf, Trams, and local restaurants.
Room very nice, excellent coffee in rooms, only disappointment was there was no free Wi-Fi in the room, but free in both lobbies, Linen and towels changed everyday, maids do a great job.
Great staff on hand to help with anything, ask for Stephanie, she is fantastic, and has some great local knowledge, sent us to a fabulous seafood place, and a great steak house (Izzy's) if you have time pay them a visit, (jump in a cab, they all know where it is) loads of great breakfast places close to the hotel if you want a change.
Great outdoor seating area, with lovely Gas heated tables.

Hotel is located right in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf, so easy walking distant to lots of attractions. The room is a good size and clean. The bathroom could do with some updating, and I was surprised to see no fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. There are some great fire pits outside to enjoy a drink if you are lucky enough to score a seat at one of them. Definitely the location of the hotel made it a good choice for San Francisco.

From the moment we checked in, the disappointment began. We were met with a snooty representative who, among other things, informed us that it would cost us an additional $45 per day to park our car. Whenever we wanted to take our car out, we'd have to wait to get it stamped at the valet, whose stamp was only good for 15 minutes! Most of the desk staff we encountered were dry and unfriendly.
The room, although clean and roomy had some interesting features. First, if you want to turn on the light to the toilet area in the room, the light over the sink, which is exposed to the room comes on and there's no way to turn it off, meaning that if someone gets up to go to the bathroom at night, everyone wakes up! Right outside our window, very early in the morning, and very noisily, they emptied the dumpsters. Every. Morning.
The bright spots? There were a few. The concierge was very helpful securing us tickets to Alcatraz when it was otherwise sold out. The location was great, just a short walk to the Wharf, but there are lots of other places to stay nearby.
I like to give credit where credit is due and have written very positive reviews about other places that we've stayed, but honestly, find another place to stay.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful except for one snooty concierge
the hotel was clean and tidy and the room was a great size looking out onto the pool which we also managed to sit out by last week as the weather was warm
would certainly recommend his hotel
