“All the comforts you desire whilst travelling”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

After a complete failure at another San Fran hotel, my parents in Australia told me to get in the car and drive to the Marriott "near that shop i like" (which i stayed at as a 13 year old and have never had a hotel compare since) Got to the Marquis and nothing was a hassle. Had dealings with 2 members of staff at reception, one checking us in and the manager that my mum had called to make sure i was booked in (i really wish i got their names). But the most professional, courteous and down to earth people i have dealt with in a hotel! THANK YOU!

We got the Valet package, which i would ALWAYS get if you have a car, parking was about $50 valet per night, and it was only and extra $20 for the package.

We were upgraded to a bay view room. I was very estatic as i could see the Oakland Bay Bridge. More than enough room for the 3 nights we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer. Close to everything! less than 5 min walk to the Cable Car and all public transport. From Fishermans Wharf, it was a $15 tax ride back to the hotel.

Breakfast was everything i remembered and more! Best omelettes that i have ever had! that is definitely a credit to the hotel! Had a drink up at the bar with the lookout with some tapas, fantastic view to pass the afternoon!

I cannot stop raving about this place, i will only stay here when i travel to SF, and strongly suggest you consider it as well!

I stayed here for 3 nights in October, 2013 for business. It was a great location, and easy to walk to a variety of popular spots in the area. The rooms are standard Marriott. The Concierge level is great. I was very impressed by the offerings in there such as a full hot breakfast, and the evening offerings are also impressive including a hot entrée, salad, and a wide variety of meats/cheeses, crackers and more. If I was in the area - I'd stay again.

Another great Marriott hotel...great service, staff is always friendly and helpful. This property is just expensive..from parking to the drinks in the bar, but likely in line with other downtown hotels. Close to shopping and some great restaurants. Concierge lounge wasn't that memorable.

we spent 3 nights at this hotel. very comfortable. no extras or freebies except coffee. close to financial district, sight seeing, park and shopping. good restaurants nearby. kept the window open as the weather at night was perfect-no air conditioning needed! slept well. getting to love those marriott beds. all employees were very kind and helpful. went to the pool every day. clean and big enough swim laps-not olympic sized however.

This hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and sites. The staff are very service oriented, but expect long waits at the front desk and concierge desk because large groups are frequently checking in/requesting information. The rooms are perfectly adequate, with good amenities. The restaurants are decent, although one might do better eating meals outside the hotel. The exercise room and pool are nice, although busy early mornings on weekdays. I would stay here again for business.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a quiet room, consider a room on an upper floor and away from elevators.

Dear 3-fl-oz-com,

I would like to apologize for the wait you experienced at our Concierge and Front Desk. As our location is only one block from the Moscone Convention Center we do see our share of large groups staying at the hotel and we try very hard to staff accordingly.

I would also like to thank you for choosing our hotel and hope we see you again soon.

The Marriott Marquis is located near almost everything in downtown SF. It's a bit pricey for what we normally pay for a hotel, but pretty standard for the larger chain hotels in the city. Rooms are very clean and updated with enough conveniently placed outlets for all our chargers (this is a huge plus for hotels in my book. Check in was easy, the concierge helped book tours and gave great advice on local dining, shopping and attractions. Spacious bathroom, hair dryer, coffee pot and safe in room.

All the hotel restaurants and room service are what I consider to be ridiculously expensive ($19 for juice, yogurt, granola and toast), but there are so many places nearby you don't have to worry about only being able to eat there. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and 2 others within a 1/2 block of the hotel. There is also a Hertz desk in the lobby which helped when we decided to rent a car for a short day trip.

Target, an AMC movie theater, shopping mall (Bloomingales, etc), and Market Street are within a short block or 2 walk.

It's a great place to stay in the heart of downtown if you can afford it.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra to get a room with a good view. The bells of St. Patrick's ring every hour du...
