“Great location!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

We live in the Bay Area but wanted to stay in SF overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is in a very central location across the street from the Westfield Union Square mall within a block of Market Street. The valet is pricey (over $30), but that's expected in any major city, and it allows for all day in-and-out privileges and they let you keep the car there until about 4pm the following day (even if you've already checked out. Lobby gets very busy with tourists and conference attendees... the hotel is huge with many conference rooms. The room is clean and they provided nice Bath and Body Works toiletries. I would stay again based on the prime location to Union Square alone!

This is a very good hotel and staff very friendly and were prepared to offer help with any questions you may have. Rooms very clean and comfortable beds. Only two downsides . The first was that many rooms face inwards so only view is the low inner roof and the second downside is the fact that it is quite a way from the main area of Fishermans Wharf etc. Buses however are very cheap and an all day pass is only $8 a person.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room facing out and not toward the inner roof.

Stayed in this hotel for a week, it was clean nice, and centrally located. The most important things you can do there are, pay the extra fee for concierge service, and stay as high as you can for a nice view. P.S. Do not take a car to SF. you don't need it, and the Indian restaurant under it was excellent.

Room Tip: Corner room, city view,

I booked this hotel on expedia, i picked a room with 2 doubles and the confirmation stated deluxe room. I printed out the confirmation, just in case......, when we checked in, we were down for a standard room, i showed the receptionist my paperwork and she went to speak to a manager. The lovely lady confirmed we would get the deluxe room as on the paperwork, but then she gave us a deluxe view room which was on the 14th floor. This was very kind of her.
The view was good of the moscone centre, room was nice. Beds probably not as comfy as they good have been as the mattress topper kept riding across the divan. There were some snickers tubes and a little pot of pringles on the desk, i thought, oooh goody complimentary snacks.......eeekkkkkkk, only $16 later at check out did the sharp reality hit me!!!!! bit sneaky that!!!!. But... when i checked out the staff did waive this off my bill, which was kind as i didnt ask them to, thanks!!.,
We paid for wifi as we really wanted to watch breaking bad on netflix, so paid the $15 dollars a night fee, wifi was fast, bonus!
it was a comfortable room, but there was this strange knocking noise that came on every half an hour, think it must have been pipes and normal hotel noises but this knocking was a bit odd. The hotel was in a good location, no dark, scary roads when you turn the block, it was right next to the Bart station which was fantastic.
This hotel was very very busy, the view from the bar is just amazing, staff were very nice. Quite expensive hotel, would probably go for the Hilton, next time round. The staff made me up this rating from average to Very Good.

Room Tip: go high as the sky!!!!

Check-in process went very smoothly. Concierge was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We were upgraded to a executive suite, which was nice, but on a lower floor, so we didnt get a view of anything (faced inside the building). The entire facility was well maintained and updated.

Room Tip: Get a room above floor 8 for a view.

We just returned from our stay at the Marriott Marquis, didn't know what to expect, because we usually stay at the JW Marriott off of Union Square. Yes ,this is a business hotel, but we were not there on business, first the staff bent over backwards to help and make you feel welcome as a couple on vacation. The room we had was an executive suite,it was a very large room withe a wet bar 2 TVS and a nice couch and chair. The club lounge was also excellent, the service and the food were very good, and having the room open all day and the weekend was a real plus for us. The hotel room was very quiet, which I didn't expect, but we did not hear much traffic or hallway noise at all. We did have a drink at the View which is on the top floor, it was very nice and the prices were not out of sight. The location was great, a shopping center a block away, union square 2 blocks away, resturants all around the area. The cable car was a block away as was other forms of transportation. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping did a great job everyday. The only downside was that we went on a very busy week in San Francisco so the room rates were high.

Room Tip: The executive suite was large, but this type of room doesn't have great views.I also recommend a...

We travel to SF often with our child and stay in many 4 and 5 star resorts and this was our most pleasant stay thus far. We were here during the frenzy of the SF Game Developer Conference and the hotel was packed but still went out of their way to make us and our small child feel welcome and at home. The buffet breakfast was excellent and is FREE for small children which was a nice bonus. The staff is super friendly and happy seem really happy with their jobs. One day while waiting on line for coffee with my little one at the lobby Starbucks the gentleman in front us, who worked for the hotel, paid for my beverage, just because. Wow! He was from Maui and spoke with us briefly and then wished us a great stay. Sometimes it is the little things that make a normally average, expected trip, special.

Room Tip: Use the pool if you have little ones, it is there and it is virtually empty.
