In the hustle and bustle of the city this is a nice Marriott. Location is great except for all the homeless people... but they are on alot of street corners in San Francisco. Only problem was the breakfast buffet was outrageously priced. $50+ for two people. Better to eat around the corner at the diner.

Great gym. individual tvs and alot of machines. Very clean, except for the mats to do ab work.... they have definitely seen better days!

We enjoyed our one night stay here, buty the hotel is huge and if you get in the wrong elevator shaft, look out. The parking was crazy, $58.00 a night to park your car??? The rooms were well appointed and nice size but when we were leaving we got charged $60 for food in the mini bar which we NEVER even tried. They quickly adjusted this but for anyone who does not look at their bill closely, they will get away with these add on charges. Plus Wi Fi in the room was not free, hey, when you are paying those prices for the room, you should throw in Wi Fi. We were walkiing distance to A.T.&T. park and watched a Giants game.

Room Tip: Ask about parking before you book a hotel room

My husband and I chose this hotel for three nights in San Francisco. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again. It was in walking distance to so many restaurants, shopping and public transportation. We had a great corner city view room that was very clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the fact that they had a Starbucks in the lobby which was convenient. The only thing that would have been nice would be if they offered free WiFi in the rooms, however we were able to access it in the lobby.

The customer service that we experienced here was great! We got an early start one morning to go on a whale watching tour. We stopped at the bellman desk to ask the best way to get to the Wharf and where we could stop to get a few bottles of water for our trip. He said that it would be hard to find something open that early on a Sunday morning so he went and found us a couple bottles and gave them to us. He gave us a map and showed us how to get there and back. He was very nice and helpful and we felt like he went above and beyond.

This is a very nice hotel with excellent staff. We were upgraded at no charge to a corner room on the 16th floor. Room was big and clean. It's 2 blocks from BART, so easy access from SFO. We enjoyed every bit of this hotel, and everyone treated my family well (front desk, bell man, concierge). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and at $129 a night published price, a very good deal. Its about a 2 block walk to Union Square shopping.

Room Tip: Just ask for it at the front desk and be nice!

We stayed at the Marquis during our first trip to San Francisco for the Easter Break. I was initially concerned because the reviews about the services are 50/50. However, we received great services from the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff. I recommended not eating or drinking at the restaruants; wayyyy overpriced. There is a lot of good restaurants and bars in Union Square where you get so much more for your money. There is also a lot of public transportation options around the hotel, so you don't need to pay the parking fees; there is a Bart stop about 2 blocks from the hotel that will take you directly to the airport and other places. Only real complaints was that we were able to get a fridge for the room, but there was only one microwave in the whole hotel, and it was not working. If you are going to offer one, you need to offer the other. Overall through, I would definetely recommend. The hotel was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and you can't beat the location. Rate was a little more than what we were used to, but was in line with the other hotels; Union Square is a pricey area all together

We stayed at the Marriot Marquis over Easter 2011. It was a flawless stay. I had booked two rooms and air transport via Expedia and asked for two rooms, one with a king bed and one with two queens. I also asked if the rooms could be adjoining or at least on the same floor. To my surprise the hotel got my request via Expedia and ta-da we got what we wanted. Travellers note: this hotel DOES have adjoining rooms for those who need that sort of thing.

The location of the hotel is PERFECT - right near the cable car turnaround and the F-train stop. For those who dont like expensive hotel breakfasts...Mels and Dennys right near by!!

The concierge was friendly and very helpful. The doormen eager to help out! We had a lower floor room (6th floor) but were not bothered by any street noise at all. The pool was clean and inviting - and the water was reasonably warm too, a rarity these days!!!!

Take everyone, including the kids, up to the View on the 39th floor for a late night drink...the view is spectacular!! Dont miss this!!

Room service was prompt and...wow...very reasonably priced.

Warning: this hotel is HUGE and VERY busy - but the hustle and bustle of the lobby stays were it should, the rooms are quiet, despite how busy it is!

Well done Marriot. See you next time!

Room Tip: They accomodate requests - just ask!
