Check in was no fuss. We couldn't secure an earlier check in time, but the reception staff held our bags for us.
The room was a little dated, but the king size suite I booked was quite big and contained everything you needed. The bed was large and comfortable and the rooms were well tended every day.
The best feature of this hotel is it's location. There is an amazing cheese,coffee and sandwich shop next door, and great restaurants, including the famous Harris' and House of Prime Rib are literally minutes walk away. Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard St. are within easy walking distance too.
The free wifi was convenient. We didn't try the breakfast as it was just pastries and juice, but it's there if you want it. If not, go next door and try one of their delicious sandwiches, or to Belcampos across the street for possibly the best breakfast burrito I've ever had.
Overall, neat, clean and excellent location. We'd stay here again based on the location alone.

It's hard to find an affordable place to stay in SF so I highly recommend Nob Hill Motor Inn. The rooms aren't fancy but they are clean, it's in a great location, we walked to Lombard and it was central to Uber everywhere else. If you drive, there is free parking. The free breakfast is just doughnuts and pastries and a coffee machine so we didn't bother with it. Next door is the greatest cheese, wine and sandwich shop I have ever seen so we bought room food there. The lobby might concern you when you first arrive, it is very small and a bit grimy but the lady was nice and for the price you can't expect marble.
