This hotel is now our favorite in San Francisco. We have stayed at a few hotels all around the city and we are done looking for a better place. You get an amazing price for not having a bathroom in your room, but the shower and toilets are private and next door to your room anyway. They have a great Romantic package at the Mosser too. I love the design of the spaces and the fact that it is an eco-friendly hotel. Next time we're going to have dinner in the restaurant downstairs, it has great reviews!

We stayed at the Mosser in April of 2010 after reading many reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed, the value of this hotel (price vs other hotels) is amazing. We paid $50/night for a room with a shared bathroom.

Upon arriving we checked into our room, which yes is quite small (picture the size of a NYC hotel room) but has everything you need, including a sink in the room which is very handy. It was clean, comfortable and functional with a great location close to Union Square. The shared bathroom was fine, we never had to wait to use the facilities and they were always very clean.

The hotel itself is very basic, no additional facilities, but if you are looking for a good value in an otherwise very expensive city this is it. They do offer some coffee/tea & muffins in the morning along with a bowl of fruit that is available all day. The only downside is the wifi is $10 per 24 hours which is quite a steep price tag, if you need wifi the Borders in the mall next door offers it for free.

Overall this hotel was exactly what we needed for our stay, a clean comfortable place to sleep that was not too expensive.

I read very mixed reviews on this hotel, but since I was on a tight budget and wanted to be in a central location, I took the chance. And I am glad I did. I stayed here for two nights while visiting some friends and seeing a little bit of the city on my way to my family down in the San Joaquin Valley. I had a single room with a shared bath. The room was small but very clean. The sink and mirror were convenient, and the closet was large. The bed was comfortable. I had a ceiling fan, which was mandatory, because without it on, it was stifling in the room, even with the window open. The fan had to be kept on high to keep it cool, so it was a little windy, but it was fine during the night.

The hotel was very quiet with the exception of a man who stood out in the hall talking on his cell phone. I almost complained to management but fell asleep anyway, so it wasn't too bad I suppose.

The shared shower room was very clean and right next door to my room. One morning I had to wait to use it, but not too long at all. The shared toilet room was also very clean; never had to wait to use it.

Overall, the price that you pay to stay here and be that close to Union Square is amazing. I rode in from Sacramento on Amtrak, and the Amtrak bus dropped me off within two blocks of the hotel. Likewise, I picked up my rental car two blocks down in the other direction. The location is fabulous, and I would definitely stay there again.

The Mosser was recommended by a friend and was conveniently near the Amtrak bus stop where we arrived late in the evening. If you plan to spend any time hanging around the room then this is not your place. If you want a comfortable bed and and a starter snack in the morning you will probably be happy here. Their muffins were small but delicious. It is not enough food to hold you for a morning of sightseeing, so be aware. The staff was friendly, helpful, and one even refused a tip. I would have liked to stay longer just because of the friendliness of the place.

The Mosser is a great hotel right on Third and Market. Shopping is right around the cornner and its surrounded by all the big pricey hotels (The Westin, Intercontinental etc.).

The hotel is a fabulous value for its location. The lobby has some artistic stain glass and its very elegant. The rooms are small (and they even offer rooms with shared baths to cut the price further), but its cozy and clean. It has a modern feel to it, a bit European. There's even breakfast in the morning (but just muffins and coffee), but hey that's more than you get elsewhere.

Its a Motel 6 price, but not the Motel 6 atmosphere. It is hip and a great place to stay.
