Yes the rooms are small and unless you arrange it you might share a bathroom. But its clean and functional with a brilliant central location. What hasnt been mentioned much is Anabelle's which is the bar and restaurant which is part of the hotel. Very good food and drink which becomes even better after 3.00pm happy hour. Take a walk to Union Square just 5 minutes away and try your luck in the Cheese Cake Factory. Far to busy for us better value and food to be found elsewhere including Anabelle's. We loved the hotel's free coffee and muffins in the morning and their really friendly service all the way

Room Tip: Ask for an en-suite bathroom and rooms away from the lift

The Mosser is quaint, with a lot of foreign travelers. The rooms are small and only the basic amenities. Price is the main reason I stayed here. They did have a wine hour friday. Perfectly fine if you will not be in the hotel much

We stayed here as part of a wedding in San Francisco, so the price we received was great, and that was the biggest selling point by far.

The rooms were small, but functional. The bathroom sink was absolutely tiny and you are bound to make a mess anytime you need to use it. The two end tables next to the bed were way too close to the bed itself to where you would bang your head against them if you rolled over too far.

We stayed for two nights, and in the middle of the night on the second night, the radiator decided to start making all types of loud noise as well as leaking water all over the floor. Mind you this was in August, so there was no reason for the heat to go on. We called the front desk, and rather than send up maintenance, they sent up security to check out the situation. He did go down to the basement to shut off the radiator, but we received no apology from the hotel nor did we receive any discount on our second night as we thought would have been appropriate.

Overall, we will absolutely stay elsewhere next time we're in San Francisco.

Nice, small room. No AC, but had ceiling fan and window that opened. It was quite adequate (and I was there during a heat snap!). Asked to be changed though because first room was on a back side over alley type enclosure, and there was a lot of clanking of pots and dishes and heat from restaurant several flights below. Next room was fine. It was on another alley type area (ramp to parking lot) but wasn't so noisy and had a breeze from outdoors here. Very pleasant. Never had any wait for hall toilet or hall shower (though I did go to another floor once when shower was occupied on my floor)- Not bad considering I was there five nights! The cleaning staff were great and bathrooms, etc. were in good order all the time.
Attractive sink in room with towels, etc. Large screen tv on wall. Muffins and coffee/tea for breakfast if you wanted, but there were places nearby to get other stuff. By the way, there is an elegant Walgreens around the corner that had everything - fruit, pastries, sandwiches, juices (fresh!)
Check in was a bit ragged (I had a special situation so it required more than standard check in). The staff seemed a little uptight handling it. They weren't rude or anything. I attribute the problem to the gosh awful techno banging style music that seemed to play often in the lobby. It made me uptight too!
But generally everyone was great.

My husband and I just spent 6 days here and thought it was just perfect! From the first day we got there, our check in wasn't till 2 or 3pm but we arrived very early at 9am and they were kind enough to give us our keys to check in. Better without any additional charges, so that was an awesome start. Yes the room we stayed in was very small but all we needed to just sleep,we spent most of our days and nights out exploring the beautiful city. The moment you step foot out of the hotel you are right in the middle of where everything is happening, very perfect location to be in especially if you're going to vacation and tour around the town. We could have paid extra for a room with a shower and restroom but using the one's on our floor as shared weren't bad at all. This hotel doesn't have ac in rooms, but the weather is just so nice you don't need it at all. We had our window open with the ceiling fan on and it would actually get cold during the nights and mornings. My husband and I also went to visit the beach one day and down in the basement floor is a laundry room along with a snack machine. Everyone here is very nice and helpful and the variety of muffins and coffee served every morning between 8-10am is also a great plus! Overall we rate this place a perfect 10 with a two thumbs up! Next time we visit SF this will definitely be our spot.

If you go to SF to explore the city and not to stay in your room to relax and enjoy lots of ameneties, the Mosser is perfect (very affordable and perfect location next to the BART, Union Square, Market Street and Moscone Center...). The rooms very small indead, its not the most confortables i have been in and can be Noisy sometimes like I have seen other persons here complaining (but you are in middle of downtown San Francisco !). But I felt safe indeed, there is always employees up front. A light breakfast served every morning in the lobby (you can bring it back to your room or take some muffins with you and leave to explore the city). Just note that the only drinks available are coffee and tea- nothing for child. I have seen a mother very upset about that. I was very happy that wifi connexion was free and available in the rooms (which don't have a/c but the building is so old and charming, i forgave ). Shared bathroom was not my situation, i also had to pay 20$ more per day. Appreciated very much the sample products in the bathrooms (not only shampoo and soap: we talk about toothpaste, lip gloss, hair spray, everything was there !). Also I have not been charged when I lost one of the key cards and they had to make me a new one. So the room was small and furnished to a basic minimum, but if you are only there to sleep or change clothes, It's a very good deal and well located.

Room Tip: Pay a 10-20$ more per night and avoid the shared bathrooms.
