We just had an ideal stay- at a Larkspur Hotel- The Abri in San Francisco.
Everything about the hotel was perfect. It's small and intimate, first of all. The decor is so handsome and pleasant to be in. The paint colors were rich but relaxing, the room was gorgeous. I loved the shiny lite fabric on the windows, so unusual and so stunning. The bed was a dream as were the pillows (not the usual stiff foam rubber, and the linens were delicious to the touch. Even the lamps and the fixtures in the bathroom were such a handsome design, you couldn't help admiring the artistic sensibility shown. The shower was fabulous- hot, full spray, easy to handle. I can't imagine what another reviewer was referring to when he said "don't expect the internet to work". The ease with which we could use the two free computers in the lobby really meant a lot to us on this particular trip. Then of course, the important thing- SERVICE! The staff without exception were so attentive and helpful and so charming in their attitude and demeanor, we just couldn't get over it. Only minus is the $43 overnight parking, which apparently all the hotels in that area charge. Plus, lots of public parking nearby at less than half the price. And you can stay in front while you check in and get settled in your room.More
