The hotel is small and business like, the rooms are big and very clean but average for Marriott standards.
Our experience with the staff was perfect, every body was nice, polite, professional and very fast. We had 2 rooms, one facing the street, 3rd floor, no problems with the street noise and the another facing the "garden" also very quiet. If you are traveling to visit the touristic SF, this is the perfect location, close to everything and very good beds to sleep after a day of walking!
Regarding the breakfast is you are a elite member will be free weekdays only, is nothing special so if you have to pay for it, there is much better options close by...
The parking is expensive as in any SF hotel, so go without car if you can...
Tip: try Priceline to get a good rate.

Recently stayed here for the holidays. Check in was prompt and the valet folks were all very good. Didn't see any bell hops, but we always carry our own luggage anyways. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job everyday. The rooms were of good size and we requested an interior room to keep the outside noise down. It was quiet outside, however you can hear the hallway noise with everyone talking and the doors closing. The gym was decent and had towels, water and fresh fruits. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. It is close to the waterfront and there are many attractions within walking distance. Also if you want to go down to Market Street and Union Square, the street trolley is only a short block away. In the gym, there is a free washer and dryer for those extended stays. You do need to bring your own detergent/softener.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevators. For quieter room, choose an interior room.

This is why I'm a HHonor gold, they make me feel home.
This hotel itself is not bad at all, but the service just make me feel sick. Check our baggages, but when we tried to claim it, what happened? The bell man told me to get them myself from the room.
Get the hell out of here, are you freaking kidding me?
Not a single greeting from any hotel staff in the whole three days.

I stayed in this hotel from Dec 23-26 with a group of 8 on a christmas holiday in SF. We specifically chose this hotel because the location is just right. Very close to Wharf, close to the Terminus of the cable car, close to the terminus of the F-line trams, and just about 15 mins drive to the Golden Gate bridge. Lots of tourist attractions and restaurants including the famous In-n-Out burger.

When we checked-in, the front desk staff was professional. I would not say they were friendly and cheery though. Just professional, get the things done, and that's all. The concierge and the doormen were in the better mood and more accommodating to us. The room itself is quite spacious with plush pillows and firm but not rock solid mattress. The flat screen TV with cables definitely a plus. However, I find it hard to accept that there is no complimentary wi-fi in the room (only in the lobby area). Even a small 2-star ramada in Santa Barbara offers in-room free wi-fi. Bathroom is quite dark though spacious and equipped with great brands. The wall is quite thin and you could hear people walking or talking from another room or from the hallway.

Plusses:
+ The gym is spacious and offers basic equipments. It provides free apples and earphones too!
+ The location cannot be faulted
+ Clean and tidy
+ Mattress is firm but not hard with plush pillows
+ Bathroom amenities offer good brand

Improvements:
+ Parking on the hotel premise is expensive, borderline ripped-off. 48 dollar plus tax! If you park your car outside and just use the meter, you can save a lot of money! from 7pm-7am parking is free. just add 2 dollars for one hour when you need it
+ Friendliness and attentiveness level of the staff varies.
+ Wi-fi is only in the lobby. The result is the lobby is always full with guests and their gadgets
+ Room can be noisy because you can hear people walking and talking outside

We frequent San Francisco and have decided that Fisherman's Wharf is the best neighborhood for us. While Union Square offers plenty of shopping, the Wharf offers more of a bar scene, especially on Sunday's for football. There is a sports bar just across the street with about 18 screens playing the NFL package.

The hotel is really nice with a modern feel. Our room was average in size with a small-feeling bathroom and there was a shower curtain on the shower/tub. We did have a great night's sleep which is always nice when traveling.

Our room included breakfast but we totally slept through it so we wouldn't be able to tell you if it is good or not. The hotel staff are nice and the hotel's location is very convenient. We will be back for sure!

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor facing the Holiday Inn but we were able to see the top of the Golden G...

If you are looking for a hotel near Fishermans Wharf this is a good location. It is only a few blocks from all the action, yet not loud at night. We booked this hotel for a few days in December with the intent to visit Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz. It is a close walk to take the ferry to Alcatraz as well. The hotel rooms are large enough for only being in the room when sleeping. The walls are rather thin and we could hear the kids next door yelling into the night. We did not hear much street noise even though we had a room facing the street. Check in and out where easy and the hotel elevators move quickly. The value for the room was high since it was a Marriott property with Bath and Body toiletries and the great location near the Wharf activities.

For the most part the hotel served us well and was very clean and nice. The only issue we had was the first night when we arrived the towels were very thin, had stains all over them and were mildew smelling. This is not what we would have expected from a Marriott and upon checking out we were told by the front desk only they apologized and said there was nothing they could do about it.

I would recommend going back to this hotel for the location if you want to be near the wharf. If you are going to San Francisco and have no interest in the craziness down there, I would stay somewhere else.
